| Ciob Set To Announce Middle Eastern Plans The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) will announce its ambitious plans for the development and establishment of a Middle East region at the forthcoming Big 5 exhibition in Dubai, on the 23rd November 2008, the most important and largest construction event of the year in the UAE. The Institute recognises the importance of the Middle East construction market and is responding to members, market growth and industry needs by developing its presence across the region. Especially as the downturn in the global economy, and subsequent construction industry market, is showing signs of an increasing number of professionals moving to the Middle East. Unlike many other professional bodies, the CIOB has plans to establish a Middle East region through the creation of hubs of activity in several key centres across the Gulf, where many construction professionals operate on large scale projects. These ambitious plans focus on the GCC countries rather than traditional approach of just a Dubai centre. The establishment of a Middle East region is a strategic move which will allow the Institute to play a major role in supporting industry, professionalism and key development projects in the Middle East as well as creating a link with the Indian Sub Continent, another key strategic area of interest for the Institute. Fabio Casula, the CIOB's head of international said: "We have had tremendous response and feedback from the industry and our members and have acknowledged the importance of focusing on the Middle East as a region rather than reacting to market activity in individual areas. "Construction professionals in the Middle East operate across borders on a regular basis, and the establishment of a regional support network throughout these key areas of activity will allow us to better serve the needs of industry and the professionals operating within it." The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) represents for the public benefit the most diverse set of professionals in the construction industry. The CIOB's role is to Promote the importance of the built environment. Lead the industry to create a sustainable future worldwide. Encourage leadership potential. Set the highest standards in quality, safety and qualification. Create an industry where excellence prospers. write your comments about the article :: © 2008 Exhibition News :: home page |
