| World Showcase Of The Italian Espresso The fourth edition of the biennial event Trieste Espresso Expo is a sell-out. Scheduled for 13 to 15 November at the Montebello complex, the trade fair is organised by Fiera Trieste Spa in collaboration with Associazione Caffè Trieste and with the sponsorship of the Chamber of Commerce. The exhibition area of some 11,000 m2 is full, and Fiera Trieste Spa has extended to spaces outside to house the many activities due to take place during the event, which has become the world showcase of the Italian espresso. Some 200 exhibitors are due, from 23 countries, while 20,000 tickets have been bought in pre-sales by these exhibitors for their clients. With respect to the 2006 edition, a +15% increase has been registered in number of exhibitors, who will be occupying an additional +30% of exhibition area within the Fiera Trieste complex. Already visitors and journalists from 70 countries have been accredited, and many foreign associations in the industry are organising group visits to Trieste Espresso Expo. With these figures to hand, President of the Fiera Trieste Fulvio Bronzi commented that "the Trieste Espresso Expo has become an international reference point for the whole of the industry of this so-called green gold. In order to offer the best possible facilities for the event, which is enjoying double-figure growth in all aspects, major structural interventions have been carried out". Adding to this, President of the Associazione Caffè Trieste Vincenzo Sandalj noted that "Italy's exports in the coffee industry stand at Eur 1 billion, and include roasted coffee as well as coffee machines and equipment. The trend has seen an average rise of 10% over the last decade.
