Curtain up on Chillventa 2008

Chillventa Nürnberg impresses right from the start, not only with its extensive range of products for refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation and heat pumps, but also with its figures: Some 800 exhibitors from 43 countries present their products on a net display area of over 32,000 square metres. The organizer NürnbergMesse expects more than 30,000 trade visitors from all over the world. "As special-interest exhibition for refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation and heat pumps, Chillventa from 15-17 October creates an industry platform for everyone involved in the refrigeration cycle, " said Bernd A. Diederichs at the Chillventa opening press conference on 14.10.2008, the day before the exhibition. "I think we can be proud that, together with the industry, the wholesale trade and the major associations from the craft trades, industry, research and training, we have succeeded in launching an exhibition of world standing from scratch."

Whether for the storage of perishable goods, the cooling of computing centres and rooms, the use of ventilation and air conditioning plants or the production of heating and hot water, the products and services from the refrigeration and air conditioning industry can be found in almost all areas of life.

Some 125 million refrigeration plants are used in private homes and industry in Germany alone. Added to these are hundreds of thousands of room air conditioning units, larger air conditioning and ventilation plants, heat pumps for heating, water cooling plants for cold water production, fan convectors and cooling ceilings. The turnover in the industry is growing all the time – just like the demand.

Range of products covers the whole refrigeration cycle
Chillventa Nürnberg covers the spectrum of products from the refrigeration and air conditioning industry for the whole refrigeration cycle. "It is certainly no exaggeration to say the "Who's Who" of the international refrigeration and air conditioning industry are here in Nürnberg, " says Gabriele Hannwacker, Exhibition Director of Chillventa. "Almost all the market suppliers are present in the core segments of compressors, air conditioning equipment and heat exchangers."

In the country pavilions, international exhibitors from Great Britain, the USA, Spain, Turkey and China present their wide variety of products and services.

Visitors can also meet the German newcomers in the refrigeration and air conditioning industry in a pavilion during the three days of the event. This en bloc presence is intended to simplify market entry for young and innovative companies. The project is supported by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology and the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA).

First platform for the heat pump industry
One focus of the Chillventa product spectrum is on suppliers and events concerned with industrial and commercial heat pumps: NürnbergMesse and the Bundesverband Wärmepumpe e.V. (BWP) have created a fitting platform for the heat pump industry for the first time with the "Industrial Heat Pump Village". Here exhibitors, associations and organizations present their products and association goals to their key target groups on an area of 400 square metres. The forum in the village offers presentations by well-known speakers on all three days of the exhibition.

The second International Heat Pump Symposium under the direction of the Deutscher Kälte- und Klimatechnischer Verein e.V. (DKV) takes place on 14 October, the day before the exhibition.

Discover energy efficiency and potential energy savings
Chillventa sets the standard, and not just for the number of visitors and exhibitors, but also in the choice of its focus. The first Chillventa focuses on the issue of "energy efficiency and energy savings". Background: Around 14 per cent of the total electrical energy consumed in Germany is attributed to refrigeration and air conditioning, which is 66 billion kilowatt hours in absolute figures.

One of Chillventa's goals is to sharpen the climate and environmental awareness of plant assemblers, operators and planners as a contribution to CO2 reduction. The refrigeration and air conditioning industry has long recognized the challenge and is achieving potential savings through appropriate technologies and cooperation between plant assemblers and their operators. Chillventa offers an ideal marketing platform for the developers of these technologies, for visitors find concentrated information on the subject in one place and also in the supporting programme accompanying the exhibition:

The noted ASERCOM + EPEE Symposium takes place the day before and deals with new EU directives and regulations that have been implemented for better energy efficiency and environmental protection. These legislative measures are intended to improve environmental protection and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Also the day before the exhibition is the "Symposium on Absorption Refrigeration and Solar Cooling – Energy-efficient Refrigeration", a special event organized by ILK Dresden that will attract interested visitors to the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg.

Online information round the clock
The online platform "ask-Chillventa" is essential for planning a visit to the exhibition in detail. The database contains information about the exhibiting companies and their products round the clock and a clear site plan makes it easier for visitors. A tool is also available for arranging appointments, which visitors can use for fast and easy contact with exhibitors before or after the exhibition.
