| SAIE 2008 - International Building Exhibition Energy efficiency in building, from product to process, is the main theme at SAIE 2008, with a new specialized exhibit: SAIEnergia. True to its slogan "Fare Energia, " the new exhibit introduces the themes of energy efficiency and renewable energy to Italy's largest trade fair for the construction industry. SAIE is back in the spotlights with important new features, including an area devoted entirely to sustainable building. SAIE is organized by BolognaFiere, the leader organizer of international trade fairs, which for over 40 years has presented the best in technological innovation and construction culture It is a meeting point for all industry operators, who come to discuss and get a hands-on look at innovative designs, technologies and systems. SAIE 2008 has chosen "BUILDING THE FUTURE" as its slogan, and presents a wide variety of exhibitions with special exhibits for strategic sectors: LaterSaie is devoted entirely to innovation and technologies for brick making; Saie Precast Technologies is devoted to machines and technologies for pre-fab construction; SaieBit, which annually hosts service companies and producers of IT systems for building and design; SaieLegno is devoted to building, structures and components in wood. And this year we add SAIEnergia. SAIEnergia, the exhibition on renewable energy sources and low-energy technologies for sustainable building, is the new feature at this edition of SAIE and is held in Hall 14. SAIEnergia creates a direct link between the energy industry and the construction industry by promoting targeted debates and workshops. These include: SAIEnergia Forum, with cultural and scientific coordination by Mario Cucinella, discussing energy-efficient homes and technologies for energy efficiency in buildings, with ample space devoted to technical seminars involving exhibitors at SAIE 2008. This year's Main Event puts energy efficiency at centre stage. Entitled + Quality - Energy for sustainable building, the exhibit presents state-of-the-art ideas for using renewable resources for heating and cooling, energy efficiency and certification, and energy recovery and re-qualification. Completing the "Path to energy efficiency" are a number of important conferences to be held at the Palazzo Congressi (to open the exhibition), including Energy Efficiency and Building Regulations, with the presentation of the Observatory on building regulations and energy efficiency (ONRE) by Cresme-Legambiente in collaboration with BolognaFiere (15 October), and SAIEnergia: Energy of Architecture (16 October).
