| Automechanika Argentina 2008 Automechanika Argentina 2008 will be the mirror of the growth of the car manufacturing industry. More than 480 companies have confirmed attendance. It will be four days to meet major players in this industry, get new leads and build loyalty. The fifth edition of the Latin American Commercial and International Car Trade Fair, from Design to Maintenance and Recycling takes place at a time when domestic vehicles are consolidating their share in the local market. Automechanika Argentina 2008 will be held on November 12 - 15, at La Rural Trade Center, on a 40,000 sq mt area. 550 exhibitors and 42,500 professionals and business people from this industry are expected. The fair is the ideal venue to get updated with the news from the industry, to do business locally and internationally and to get trained. In parallel, academic seminars will take place, with the attendance of prestigious national and international lecturers. A report by Mr. Dante Sica* indicates that world car production will grow steadily in the next few years, in an environment of sharp new competitors. This expansion is partly due to the new role adopted by emerging countries. Latin America currently manufactures 5.9 million vehicles per year, 8.1% of the world's total figure, and 79.5% more than in 1999, when it reached its baseline. Brazil and Mexico produce 83.7% of the total figure for the region. Argentina is recovering its share and it is expected to exceed the top figure it reached in 1998 by 2013. These three countries add up to 93% of the Latin American production. Mercosur has recovered its international major role through new investment and growing production, which, in 2004, was 4% of the world's production. It is expected to reach 4.7% by 2010. Latin America's domestic market will continue to drive demand. Sales perspectives for 2013 are highly favorable, with a 25.5% increase vis-á-vis 2007. The car industry in Argentina has been consolidating since 2007, with a sustained growth in the domestic market, a lure for new investment and a more diversified and deeper exporting profile. In 2007 production was 545,000 units, sales 565,000 and exports 316,000 vehicles. The country's current production capacity exceeds 1 million vehicles. Mid-size and large vehicles, pick-up trucks, utilities and SUVs are the main lines of business. In the mid term, more than 60% of the vehicles manufactured locally are expected to be exported. The local vehicle share is consolidating in the domestic market. This trend is expected to continue in the next five years. The international and regional scenarios show opportunities for Argentina's car industry to strengthen. Production, domestic sales and exports are hitting record levels. These perspectives of the car industry show a scenario of sustained expansion for the next five years. This entails major challenges for the car part industry and excellent conditions for the growing integration of the car part and component sector locally. write your comments about the article :: © 2008 Exhibition News :: home page |
