| International Coach and Bus Fair The marketing campaign for the International Coach and Bus Fair, an event organised by IFEMA, which will be staging its ninth edition between 14th and 17th October at Feria de Madrid, is progressing favourably. Thus, so far a net exhibition area measuring nearly 20,000 square metres has been confirmed. This new edition once again enjoys the complete support of the industry, both in terms of supply and demand, by means of wide-ranging representation on the FIAA Organising Committee. Halls 7 and 9 at the fairground will host the staging of the extensive and varied exhibition presented at FIAA ´08, halls that offer identical dimensions to those that hosted the last edition of the Coach and Bus Fair. This is the only monographic fair in Spain devoted to the road passenger transport sector, and one of the most important events of its kind at a world-wide level, a form of recognition the fair has earned through its high level of representation and the stature of its exhibitors, which include leading bodywork manufacturers, spare-parts companies, accessory suppliers, associations and other service providers linked to the sector. We might highlight the fact that, with still four months to go before the staging of the fair itself, FIAA has already confirmed the participation of 127 exhibitors and 207 participating companies, among which we might highlight the attendance of a series of new international brands. In this respect, once again this year the organisers have boosted the international dimension of the fair by implementing a series of measures that strengthen the appeal of this key event, such as the boosting of the promotional campaign that is carried out in the international specialised press, a series of initiatives carried out in collaboration with the leading international associations, and a guest programme for a large group of journalists working at the leading trade publications throughout Europe. The impact of this campaign on international attendance at the fair has already been confirmed by the fact that media representatives of 20 different nationalities will be present at FIAA. This strong international dimension was already evident at the last edition, which featured some high levels of foreign participation, namely 26% of the total number of exhibitors. Furthermore, 16% of the trade visitors travelled to the fair from other countries. These figures confirm FIAA´s role as an international point of reference for the road passenger transport sector. Furthermore, in order to promote the fair outside Spain and boost the industry´s image in the eyes of the media, FIAA´08 will once again stage a Press Day, which will feature numerous new product presentations on the part of the participating makes and companies. In the year 2006 this initiative enjoyed an excellent response, both in terms of the number of presentations and in terms of media attendance. Thus, the 2006 edition provided accreditation for a total of 341 Spanish and foreign journalists and achieved 236 news items in the specialised and general press, both in Spain and abroad. We might also highlight the high levels of satisfaction recorded at the last edition of FIAA. Thus, according to the results of a study carried out by the fair's organisers, 92% of the professionals at the event fulfilled their objectives and 94% expressed their desire to return to the fair at its year 2008 edition, whilst 71% were professionals who enjoyed high decision-making power. write your comments about the article :: © 2008 Exhibition News :: home page |
