IFRA Expo 09 Comes to Vienna

IFRA Expo will be held once again in Vienna: From 12 to 15 October 2009 the Austrian capital will be for the second time the location of the leading international exhibition for the news publishing industry. The main reasons for this decision were the high levels of satisfaction among both IFRA Expo visitors and exhibitors with Vienna and the exhibition centre last year as well as the good cooperation between IFRA and Reed Messe Wien.

Positive results in 2007 were decisive
The 10,600 newspaper and media experts from 87 countries who attended experienced not only a "concert of media convergence" during last year's IFRA Expo in Vienna, but also a record exhibition with 367 exhibitors from 33 countries who showed their products and services on 15,126 m² exhibition floor space. This was an additional reason that motivated IFRA recently to sign the contract with the representatives of Reed Messe Wien.

Reiner Mittelbach, CEO of IFRA, sees the equally high levels of satisfaction among last year's visitors and exhibitors, reflected in the annual Expo survey, as the decisive criterion: "Ninety-seven percent of the participants were satisfied or very satisfied with their attendance at IFRA Expo 07. Moreover, 82 percent of visitors were able to use the IFRA exhibition in Vienna to help them make the right decisions. The exhibitors rated the value of the 2007 exhibition in Vienna for them as extraordinarily high."

Johann Jungreithmair, Chairman of the Board of Reed Messe Wien, is looking forward to the continued cooperation: "With Vienna's long-standing tradition as the gateway to Eastern Europe, IFRA succeeded already in 2007 in attracting more visitors from these countries than ever before to an Expo. Moreover, the further improved infrastructure due to the 2008 Football European Championship (two underground railway stations are scheduled to be opened directly at the exhibition centre in May 2008) should permit a further increase in the number of visitors in 2009."

Bookings for exhibitors at IFRA Expo 09 in Vienna will be accepted starting February 2008 – first for IFRA members, then for non-members.

The "Big Picture" for IFRA Expo 08 in Amsterdam also takes shape.
Preparations for IFRA Expo 08, that will take place from 27 to 30 October 2008 in Amsterdam, are also at present in full swing at IFRA. The fact that this year's exhibition is destined to be successful is indicated not only by the traditionally attractive venue of Amsterdam, where the "Annual Even of the News Publishing Industry" will be held for the 16th time, but also by the number of exhibitors registered to date: At the time of going to press, more than 150 manufacturers and service providers have booked more than 10, 000 m² stand space.

"It is especially pleasing", says Michael Heipel, IFRA Director of Exhibitions and Sales, "that already many and important exhibitors from all areas of the newspaper business and workflow have registered for Amsterdam. With them, we will be able to realise our this year's motto 'Get the Big Picture!' and thus offer our visitors in autumn a comprehensive range of topics, as IFRA Expo is the only exhibition that presents all products and services for media specialists in a single location."

The following exhibitors are among those to have registered already for IFRA Expo 08 in Amsterdam ABB, AbitibiBowater, Adobe, Agfa, Anygraaf, Atex, Baldwin, CCI, Cerutti, EAE, EidosMedia, Escenic, Ferag, FFEI, Flint Group, Fujifilm, Funkinform, Goss, IDAB WAMAC, KBA, KnowledgeView, Kodak, Krause, MacDermid, MAN Roland, Manugraph India, Mitsubishi, Mittelrhein-Verlag, Mosca, MotterStitch, MSH, Müller Martini, Multicom, Myllykoski, NELA, Norske Skogindustrier, OneVision, Papierfabrik Palm, ppi, Protec, Q.I.
