Embedded Systems Show-2008

Embedded Systems Show 2008 – the international exhibition for the electronics systems and software development communities in Europe – is taking place at Birmingham's NEC on 1 and 2 October. Organised by TechInsights, a division of United Business Media, ESS 2008 also features the UK's largest conference for system engineering and embedded software development. With the widest range of embedded technologies and products on show from over fifty world class exhibitors, ESS 2008 will bring together the industry's experts and practitioners under one roof, helping visitors to find the best, most profitable and cost-effective solutions on the market today.

Products and technologies to be showcased at ESS 2008 include: microprocessors, microcontrollers, reconfigurable platforms, real-time OS, application software development, system-on-chip-design, software modelling, digital signal processing, bus-based modules, high-speed interconnects, testing tools, electronic displays, database middleware and networking protocols.

Running alongside the exhibition, the ESS Conference promises to be as informative, practical and useful as ever, providing a targeted, business-focused forum for everyone involved in this fast-paced industry. An invaluable source of best practice information and latest research, ESS 2008 offers unrivalled access to those shaping and evolving the systems of tomorrow.

The conference programme reflects hot technology trends and the greatest current challenges for both hardware and software engineers. The programme will be divided into two main themes – Digital Convergence: designing advanced systems for power and performance constrained applications, and Dependable Systems: designing advanced systems for high value and high reliability applications. Speakers will tackle a range of specific issues relevant to these themes.

"The Embedded Systems Show remains the number one UK event for anyone involved in electronic systems and software development, " says exhibition director Andrew Porter. "Once again, we have created an event designed to address the technical needs and challenges faced by electronics OEMs and system houses. The success of ESS has always been its real-world business focus, and in that respect this year's event will be the same as ever. When it comes to the technologies on show, however, visitors can expect anything but the same. This hi-tech industry always has some surprises up its sleeve, and ESS 2008 will not disappoint."
