| SUN - The 26th International Exhibition of Outdoor Products SUN, the 26th International Exhibition of Outdoor Products. Design Furnishing, Accessories will take place on October 16-19, 2008 at the Rimini Expo Center. SUN is an international reference show for professional operators in the Outdoor sector, a unique event that once again looks at the future: the 26th edition will provide a comprehensive preview of the summer 2009 collections, including trendy objects, fusion ambiances, and material evolutions; it will further anticipate styles and directions and showcase projects and design, testing, innovation, and evolutionary processes in the outdoor products' sector. With 13 halls and a 90,000 sq. m. exhibiting surface, 700 exhibitors and 24,000 professional visitors from 50 foreign Countries, SUN is the only exhibiting event entirely dedicated to public and private outdoor space design and furnishing. These numbers outline a new collective imagery focused on the pleasure and freedom of outdoor living, beyond places, beyond seasons, beyond walls, deep into a space of lines and forms that give life to a very peculiar sensory workshop. An outstanding opportunity for architects, designers, landscape architects, and furnishers to meet and confront, SUN is a great showcase where style and emotion, design and colour, innovation and enchantment outline a preview of future outdoor living, of the freedom to choose and to move In_ and Out_door. SUN is the widest display of fluid housing, where 'out' is an extension that relates, merges, and confronts with indoor spaces, adding to their charm, design, and comfort, the greatest international event dedicated to open-door living, presenting the whole range of outdoor technologies and solutions – from the idea to the prototype, from the project to the product. SUN 2008 will include a number of shows, debates, and events focused on the topic selected for its 26th edition: 'LIGHT and WATER'. The magic of these natural and vital elements, their charm and mystery, their endless opportunities to create atmospheres and arouse emotions will provide a background for unusual and seductive ambiances that turn into a unique setting enriched with emotional setups, on the wake of highly refined inside-out living. Furniture and furnishing items will demonstrate new ways to merge the inside with the outside, joining together environments, products, and solutions to satisfy the growing wish for open-door living, comfort, and wellbeing. And, for the first time ever, SUN intends to give space and shape to the suggestions of the OUT_light universe, thus integrating an exhibiting range that is already unique as it is. Again SUN 2008 will act as a privileged interpreter of the aesthetic languages of new life styles and as a forerunner of space versatility, identifying the signs, dreams, and symbols of a boundless design conceived to inhabit open-air spaces. Special events> preliminary information DESIGN d'Outore, Outlight & living Design d'Outore is a prestigious selection of open-door furnishing items signed by internationally renowned designers. The show will be highly evocative and attractive, according to the current philosophy of fluid living. Developed according to a very unusual and high-impact process (a wide zigzagging lightning-garden, directly connected with the new press-village), the show will once again hint to the possibility of merging the inside with the outside, joining together environments, objects, and solutions to satisfy the growing wish for outdoor living and, for the first time ever, giving space and shape to the suggestions of the OUT_light and living universe. First firms present: DDesign, BieBi, Gaber, IMS, Nardi, Scab, Varaschin, Moroso… Ambienti d'Amare A unique setup created by FrassinagoLab, developing across the halls of excellence and the swimming-pool area: a 90-metre long giant octopus, a huge sea monster with a 40-metre head that leads visitors through top level ambiances with its long tentacles, putting together fragments of landscapes that follow each other in a seductive journey through water, islands, and mainland, beyond space and beyond time. A route suggested by suspended locations, pile-works, and emotional lights in the pursuit of excellence in living across spaces and objects. An emotional set-up on the wake of highly refined inside-out living. Outdoor Re_styling, back to the future With Outdoor Re_styling SUN will get back to the future starting from the reintroduction of outdoor objects and products that marked their own time, reviewed with a look at the future: from the archetype to the prototype, the object, re-set in it historical ambiance, will be reviewed, re-evaluated, re-designed, and reintroduced in the light of the new technologies and applications. The exhibition will be supervised by the La Sapienza University in Rome, a privileged interpreter of the aesthetic languages of the new lifestyle and a forerunner of space versatility. Outdoor Experience Design SUN 2008 will renew its co-operation with POLI.Design, which will introduce the new projects dedicated to versatile housing, to the fusion between In_ and Out_door according to the latest and upcoming evolutions. With Outdoor Experience Design, SUN will once again point out to the signs, dreams, and symbols of boundless design conceived to inhabit open-door spaces.
