| Pacific Water Conference As part of the upcoming Pacific Water Conference which will be held from 9 - 11 September 2008 in Apia, the Pacific Water Association (PWA) is involving the youth in promoting important water messages to the public. 17 Colleges have been invited to participate in the Pacific Water Conference (PWC) Jingle competition and 15 Primary Schools will vie for the generous prizes offered in the Pacific Water Conference Poster Competition. The purpose of the PWC competition series is to increase students' interests in water-related research and to raise awareness about global and regional water issues. The competition will be centred on the theme "Water is Precious but Limited". The PWC competition is an important element in the Pacific Water Association's effort to attract young professionals into the water and wastewater field. As the size and scope of the global water challenge continues to evolve, it is more important than ever to promote the ideals of leadership, academic excellence, and environmental stewardship. The younger generation will have the opportunity to make an impact on the future of our water. The winner of the PWC poster competition will receive $500 and have their poster displayed at the PWC Exhibition. The winner of the PWC jingle competition will receive $500 and will have their jingle featured in the advertising campaign for the PWC.
