Organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the 2008 Taipei Int'l Food Show, Taipei Int'l Food Machinery and Technology Show, and Taipei Int'l Packaging Industry Show will be opened simultaneously Grand Opening for the Biggest Food Event in Asia. The eighteen-year-old FOOD TAIPEI (Taipei Int'l Food Show) has become the biggest event in Asia food industry. Every year its scale sets a new record and this year is no exception. In 2008, a total of 768 companies will be hosting 1,609 booths, which registers an impressive 25% of growth in the number of exhibitors.

The U.S.A, Japan, South Korea, Canada, Austria, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Chile, Malaysia, Spain, Fiji, Poland, and six countries from Africa are among the 27 countries represented by National Pavilions at FOOD TAIPEI 2008. In addition, Taiwan's trade partners from Latin America, including Panama, Guatemala, and Nicaragua will jointly set up the FTA Pavilion, showcasing local specialties including coffee, seafood, sauces, juices, and meat products. These businesses will come to the frontier, meeting face-to-face with importers from Taiwan and the world.

CHAROEN POKPHAND ENTERPRISE (TAIWAN) CO., LTD., CHAROEN POKPHAND ENTERPRISE (TAIWAN) CO., LTD., and BLACK BRIDGE FOODS (TZU WEICHEN FOOD CO., LTD.) will all participate in FOOD TAIPEI 2008. The event has become one of the best trade platforms in Asia and brings countless business opportunities.

This year's FOOD TAIPEI, FOODTECH TAIPEI, and TAIPEI PACK will be held simultaneously, which is designed to stream up the production chain of the food industry and enable international visitors to shop for all they need in just one trip.

FOODTECH TAIPEI (Taipei Int'l Food Machinery & Technology Show) is jointly organized by TAITRA and Taiwan Food & Pharmaceutical Machinery Manufacturers' Association. A total of 172 domestic and overseas companies have already signed up for 529 booths, registering 9.6% and 5.6% growth respectively. Exhibitors include MIURA CO., LTD., CHUNG SHEN FOOD MACHINERY CO., LTD., CHUNG LONG PRECISION MACHINERY CO., LTD, ANKO FOOD MACHINE CO., LTD., DER EN FOOD MACHINERY CO., LTD., XU YUAN PACKAGING TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD., HUNDRED MACHINERY ENTERPRISE CO., LTD., MILL POWDER TECH SOLUTIONS, CHIEH SONG MACHINE CO., LTD, YANG JENQ MACHINERY CO., LTD., KING EAGLE INDUSTRIAL CO., LTD., NEWLONG TAIWAN MACHINE CO., LTD, SUNSHINE ENERGY TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD, and CHANG YU MACHINERY WORKS. The show is divided into four zones: Taiwan Businesses, Foreign Businesses, Pharmaceutical (Health Food) Equipment, and Trade Media, showcasing machinery and technologies for food/bio technology & products, food/beverage manufacture machinery, baking facility, food packaging machinery & equipments, freezing, refrigeration, and cooking facilities, waste disposal & disinfection facilities, CAD & CAM, analysis & measuring equipments, food service facilities, vending machines, food additives, and food technologies.

TAIPEI PACK (Taipei Int'l Packaging Industry Show) is organized by TAITRA and China (Taipei) Packaging Association. A total of 137 companies have already signed up for 393 booths, registering 8.7% and 7.7% growth respectively. This area is divided into three zones – Packaging Machinery, Packaging Materials, and Trade Media, and is expected to showcase a wide range of products including packaging machinery and materials, paper containers, wrapping plant facilities, auto filling, sealing & weighing machines, printing machines, tapes, films & boards, warehouse facilities, food & drug packaging machines, bag-making machines, material control facilities, vacuum packaging machines, conveyor belts, and stretch film packaging machines. Many multinational manufacturers endorse this concept by joining the exhibition. Companies including JAW FENG MACHINERY CO., LTD., PROMARKS VAC CO., LTD., INDUSTRADE CORPORATION, TAYI YEH MACHINERY CO., LTD., TIAN CHERNG PACKING MACHINERY CORPORATION, and SINLON PACKAGE MACHINE CO., LTD. will be showcasing their newest technologies. It is definitely a show worth coming for.

In Taiwan, you can enjoy everything from authentic Taiwan snacks, traditional Chinese food, a wide range of creative dishes, and an endless array of European, American, Asian, and African cuisines. This year, based on last year's success, TAITRA again invites 25 hotels and 80 well-known restaurants, including Dan Ryan's Chicago Grill American Restaurant, Din Tai Fung, Capone's Italian Restaurant, Gasthaus Zum Adler, and Tung Chinese Cuisine, to host a series of food festivals catering to the 40 thousand visitors who come to Taipei for expos in June. A card in hand; enjoy unlimited fun - holders of the "Taiwan Cuisine Card", will enjoy special discounts at the participating hotels and restaurants. This event will bring international visitors the most authentic local flavors and hospitalities, plus infinite business opportunities to local businesses.

In addition, coinciding with the opening of FOOD TAIPEI, the Taste of Taiwan Cuisine 2008 holds a special "Taiwan Snacks Free Tasting" event for international visitors on June 18, starting from 11:30, at Booth No.327 of Area K, on the 1st floor of TWTC Nangang.
