CGOverdrive2008 - Asia's Сomputer Graphics Event

CGOverdrive2008, Asia's largest computer graphics event, returns to Singapore Expo on 17 - 20 June 2008. In its 3rd edition, the event aims to address both the technical and business issues within the complete CG value chain, from the creation and production to the distribution and broadcast of digital media and entertainment in television, films and games. Organised by Visual Communication Order (VCO) and strategic partner, Singapore Exhibition Services (SES), this year's show promises a line-up of activities, including an exhibition, exhibitor workshops, conferences, hands-on masterclasses, recruitment opportunities and talks, as well as a digital art and animation gallery of works by students and professionals from around the world.

A new addition to the show this year is the Business Forum which targets industry players planning to enter the Asian market, and keen investors or financiers. The 2-day forum, held from 19 - 20 June at Singapore Expo's Hall 9, will see experts and key industry players present their experiences and strategies in Asia. Topics of the forum include current developments and future trends, funding Asia's studios and examining the commercial value of CG, and the challenges and competition facing animation companies in Asia, which will be led by business professionals from prominent studios involved in distributing, producing and funding of Hollywood feature films, TV shows and games.

"This year's show promises a plethora of activities and an extensive conference programme of illustrious speakers sharing the secrets behind their successful endeavours as CG artists and professionals. Participants will not only learn the latest CG skills but also truly get inspired. The growth of the show, in particular the launch of the Business Forum, reinforces CGOverdrive's position as the must-attend industry event in Asia" said Mr Lai Kok Sen, Director of VCO.

The 4-day CGOverdrive2008 Conference boasts a star-studded line-up of internationally renowned CG artists, all of whom are directly involved in creating box-office hits, award-winning feature animated and VFX films or games, providing an excellent platform to keep delegates abreast of the animation industry developments in Asia.

CGOverdrive, held alongside BroadcastAsia, together with CommunicAsia, InteractiveDME, EnterpriseIT, as well as various inter-government meetings, are part of the Infocomm Media Business Exchange (imbX). imbX is Asia's largest infocomm and media event that fortifies Singapore's position as a leading infocomm and media hub. It brings together business leaders, companies and industry professionals to showcase their latest innovations, network, exchange ideas and tap new markets.
