| BalticBuild 2008 On 10-13 September 2008 the international exhibition centre Lenexpo in St. Petersburg will host BalticBuild - international trade fair for building and construction - for the 12th time. The event includes the sectors Build, Hardware, Conmac, Ceramic & Stone, Santechnika, Heat*Vent, Windows & Doors, Interiors, Decotex and Flooring. BalticBuild is the leading exhibition of the construction industry in the northwest of Russia. 758 companies participated in last year's event and used a total gross space of 23,800 sqm. More than 26,000 trade visitors from different regions of Russia, the CIS and also from other countries came to St. Petersburg. BalticBuild 2007 again had a German pavilion, and this year the show will host an official German joint stand once more. For many years, numerous German companies have been participating in this successful exhibition within a national pavilion. Russia is still showing a rapid economic growth, from which also the Russian building industry is profiting. Mainly in the metropolis Moscow and St. Petersburg new residential, office and commercial buildings are springing up like mushrooms. The northwest of Russia with its centre St. Petersburg has a lot of advantages over other Russian regions in the competition for foreign capital.
