| Singapore Garden Festival Couples who are planning their solemnisation in the Year of the Rat must not miss the upcoming Singapore Garden Festival (SGF). For the first time, the Festival organiser, National Parks Board has tied up with Suntec Singapore to offer solemnisation packages for couples to be wedded amidst the 32 dazzling gardens and floral displays. The package comes with food and beverages and the exclusive use of the VIP pavilion at Level 6. A wedding specialist from Suntec Singapore will also be available to assist in the planning of the session. The biennial floral and gardens extravaganza, SGF is the first to bring together top international and Singapore award-winning landscape and garden designers from around the world to showcase their creations under one roof. Each participating designerat the Festival had to have won a recent top accolade in order to qualify. The inaugural Festival in 2006 met with resounding success with 200,000 visitors. Preparations have been underway for the Festival highlights. One of which is the Best of Show Designer Gardens comprising 18 landscape and fantasy gardens specially designed and created by 20 award-winning local and international designers. Each designer is given 100 sqm of space to showcase their creations and compete for the top awards. In addition, 14 international and local floral designers will be delighting visitors with their floral artistry in vibrant displays at the Floral Windows to the World. Festival preparations are stepping up, with international designers visiting Singapore in the coming months to source for plants and materials, and to meet local nurseries and implementing partners. The international garden designers will be in town in March to make necessary preparations for their gardens. Gardening professionals and enthusiasts will also have an exciting time shopping at the Festival Marketplace. 120 booths at the Marketplace will offer a wide array of plants, gardening or landscape products, gardening accessories, and arts & craft. As of end February, more than 100 booths have already been taken up. The ever-popular educational talks and workshops by local and international experts will return as part of the Festival activities. Visitors will also be able to bring their plants to the free Plant Clinic and receive plant care tips during the Festival. This year's Singapore Garden Festival promises another season of enchantment for everyone with extraordinary garden and floral displays, amazing orchids at the Singapore Orchid Show and a whole host of other activities and entertainment. write your comments about the article :: © 2008 Exhibition News :: home page |
