| Intersolar AWARD Honors Groundbreaking Solar Technology This year for the first time Intersolar, the world's largest trade show for solar technology, will be awarding prizes to groundbreaking products and services in the categories of "Photovoltaics" and "Solar Thermal Technology". Companies and institutions exhibiting at Intersolar from June 12-14, 2008, and presenting their innovations at the Intersolar Innovation Exchange are eligible to take part in the competition. Entries for the Intersolar AWARD 2008 must be submitted by May 24, 2008. With over 1,000 exhibitors from more than 40 countries, Intersolar is now the leading platform for groundbreaking technologies and innovations in solar technology and thus a benchmark for the industry's innovative strength. This year the organizers of Intersolar, Solar Promotion GmbH and Freiburg Wirtschaft Touristik und Messe GmbH & Co. KG, in conjunction with the German Solar Industry Association (BSW-Solar) will be presenting the Intersolar AWARD for the first time. In future, the prize will be awarded annually by an independent jury in the categories of "Photovoltaics" and "Solar Thermal Technology" and is expected to establish itself as the most coveted international award for outstanding technical innovation in the solar industry. "With the Intersolar AWARD we want to point the way for new developments in research and technology within the solar industry. Intersolar is the ideal framework for doing so, " says Markus Elsässer, C.E.O. of Solar Promotion GmbH, one of the organizers. The winners will receive their prizes during an official ceremony during the show on June 12, 2008, as part of the Innovation Exchange in Hall B5 of the exhibition center. The Intersolar AWARD is likely to gain a high level of international attention: "During the show, all eyes in the solar industry are on Intersolar. Whatever's presented here doesn't stay secret for long, " says Klaus W. Seilnacht, C.E.O. of Freiburg Wirtschaft Touristik und Messe GmbH & Co. KG, one of the Intersolar organizers. In addition, the winners can enhance their product marketing by using the Intersolar AWARD logo. All products and technical solutions which are being exhibited for the first time at Intersolar in 2008 and which represent a significant advance on existing technologies are eligible for entry. "With the Intersolar AWARD we are signaling the industry's innovative strength and making achievements in the areas of research and development visible internationally, " said Carsten Körnig, C.E.O. of the German Solar Industry Association (BSW-Solar). Innovations should have been tested already or be in industrial use and be particularly innovative from a technical and economic viewpoint.
