F & A Trade Show - 2008

A 100 strong buyer delegation team, specially flown in from Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will be a major highlight of the fifth edition of the F&A Trade Show 2008, slated to be held at the Export Promotion Industrial Park, Whitefield, Bangalore, India on the weekend of June 6 to 8, 2008. "The purpose of their visit is to identify prospective-supply chain partners in fabrics and garment accessories in a bid to establish long term and enduring business relationships, " said Mr. P. Krishna Murthy, CEO, S S Media & Marketing, organizers of the show.

The two delegations will be headed by their respective associations - the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and the Joint Apparel Association Forum (JAAF) of Sri Lanka. "To enable participants to interact with the visitors in an exclusive and business-like atmosphere, we will be organizing a special event called the 'Business Networking Forum, ' on the evening of the first day of the show, " said Mr Murthy.

The theme will focus on 'South Asia and Emerging Global Opportunities in Textiles/Garments.' This will be addressed by an elite panel comprising senior representatives from Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, who will give a perspective of their country's current position and the road ahead and how they perceive the emerging opportunities. "We are also expecting a delegation of garment manufacturers and exporters from Vietnam and a confirmation is expected soon, " said Murthy.

Besides this exclusive event, the F&A Show Trade Show 2008 promises to be 40 percent bigger than its previous editions in terms of overall exhibition space as well as number of exhibitors. The all new and biggest edition so far will have over 125 participants, not only from across the country, but also around the world like USA, UK, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Sri Lanka, etc representing all areas of the textile value chain. Of these, over 40 percent of the exhibitors will be entirely new, participating for the first time, while the others will use this opportunity to showcase their latest range of apparel fabrics and accessories. This means that buyers will have a wider choice when it comes to fabrics and garment accessories as well as supplier options. Visitors too come in from not only the entire country, but also neighboring countries like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, Mauritius besides Indonesia, Philippines, the Middle East, USA, UK and Australia amongst others. The F&A Trade Show is the most comprehensive and authoritative event of its kind with an exhibition area of 5, 373 sq meters spread over 50 acres of land.

The show, whose main focus would be the latest in fabrics, accessories and services, will be attended by some of India's leading garment manufacturing / exporting houses, buying houses / agents and designers. The last show attracted over 3, 142 quality trade visitors consisting of top chairmen, managing directors, chief executive officers, owners, partners and senior executives like merchandisers, sourcing managers and purchase managers. This edition is expected to attract over 4, 000 business decision makers.

This unique fair will offer a mind-blowing collection of fabrics woven by some of India's premier weaving mills and fashion accessories manufactured not only in the country, but also from around the globe. The participants are expected to display their latest in all kinds of apparel fabrics, suiting, shirting, bottom weights, knitted, narrow, fleece, gray, corduroy, denim, velvet, embroidered fabrics and dress materials; narrow fabrics and accessories like labels, elastics, embroidery thread, hangers, zippers, interlinings, buttons, tapes, tags, laces, stones, laser cutting machines, bar coding, printing services, testing services and many more.
