| Canton Machine Tool Fair For the year 2008, the GIMT introduces major enhancements in the profile of the exhibition. Presenting itself as the Canton Machine Tool Fair, the event will be held from June 16 – 19, 2008 at the China Import and Export Fair (Pazhou) Complex in Guangzhou. In December 2007, the Canton Machine Tool Fair was able to win the support of the Guangzhou Machine Tool Association. The Guangzhou Machine Tool Association is supported by the government of Guangzhou and was established in 2007 in order to represent the interests of the strong machine tool industry in the Guangzhou area. The cooperation between the Canton Machine Tool Fair and the association will strengthen the ties to the local machine tool industry decisively and will attract additional key players of the national machine tool industry to the exhibition. International Participation at the Canton Machine Tool Fair. The Canton Machine Tool Fair was able to extend its international scope by establishing cooperation with leading machine tool and metal working associations in Europe and Asia. The first Singaporean Pavilion will be established at the Canton Machine Tool Fair 2008. The pavilion is organised by the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMa), which represents more than 2,000 companies from all sectors of the manufacturing industry. SMa is expecting to attract about 10 key exhibitors to exhibit at a 150-sqm Singaporean pavilion in the first year of cooperation. An industry briefing held in February at the SMa in Singapore is expected to contribute to the size of the Singaporean Pavilion. The Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA) is the new supporter of the Canton Machine Tool Fair in the UK. The leading association for manufacturing technology signed a cooperation agreement with the exhibition and will invite global players among its members to exhibit at the Canton Machine Tool Fair. The association has a clear international focus and aims at the expansion of British import and export channels. In order to ensure vivid business during the trade exhibition, the Canton Machine Tool Fair 2008 implements a comprehensive campaign to invite professionals from the international and domestic manufacturing industries to the fair. Key buyers and experts from the manufacturing industries are invited to take advantage of the Canton Machine Tool Fair Visitor VIP Program. The VIP Program offers special services such as pre-registration, additional meeting opportunities, and access to the on-site VIP Lounge.
