Baby World 2008

From May 23 to 25, Kipsala International Exhibition Centre will sound in kids' laughter; it will be filled with hustle and liveliness as the second exhibition of children goods and services Baby World 2008 organized by the International Exhibition Company BT 1 with a kind support of "With respect to a family, SEB Bank" will gather young families and their kids, as well as grandparents and nannies.

In the exhibition Baby World 2008 visitors will be able to consult with Latvia's best doctors and specialists, and find answers to their questions about pregnancy, child care, safety and health, to choose and buy necessary goods both for children and their mummies, as well as to relax and have fun with whole family in different attractive events.

Visitors will be able to see and buy children clothing, toys, sports goods, high quality newest models of pushchairs, hygiene goods for children and babies, as well as goods for young mums.

Aiva Borska, a manager of the exhibition, tells: "Successful debut of the exhibition proved that such undertaking is important both for participants and visitors. In comparison with last year, the amount of participants has increased at 30% and, this year, companies not only from Latvia and Lithuania, but also from Italy, Russia, China and Portugal will be offer a wide range of products and services, there. I am sure that visitors will also appreciate a possibility to visit the exhibition "Baby World 2008" with their family, to find necessary goods and relax together".

Organizers and participants of the exhibition will take care for varied amusement programme dedicated to babies, their older brothers and sisters, and for their mums and dads, as well.

In the "Lego" area children will be able to play with different blocks, to test the newest toys and to receive surprise gifts. Kids will also be able to jump and bluster in inflatable amusements offered by the amusement park "Lec un Minies".

Parents will receive interesting experience walking in their babies' shoes, when they will visit Pampers exposition with furniture displayed so huge to give adults the feeling of a kid at home, where everything is a way much bigger than a child.

To capture and keep memories about the time when it feels like children are growing up by hours, a photo studio "Nāra" will offer to all parents an opportunity to parents will be able to take family pictures. To make it more exciting, children may take their favourite toys and accessories with them.

Children with such hobbies as singing and performing stage arts will be able to engage in different musical activities, since all three days there will be many interesting performances for whole family on the big stage.

Participants of the contest "Cālis" from all Latvia's regions, singing and dancing children from pop bands and music and dance studios from Gulbene, Rezekne, Jelgava, Tukums, Ventspils, Liepaja, Ogre, Ozolnieki, Marupe and Riga will please audience.

In Kipsala will be held a songwriting and poetry workshop, different competitions, a free microphone and there will be appointed a winner of the competition "Zelta mute". Visitors will be able to demonstrate their talents participating in "PopStreet", to try to guess melodies and dance Latvian folkdances. Little visitors of the exhibition will have a chance to sing together with some of Latvian music stars.

The TV broadcast and parent society "Māmiņu klubs" this year has prepared for young parents and their children a range of surprises that will amuse the tiniest visitors of the exhibition and give useful advice to their parents.

Parents will be able to get to know about different novelties during all days of the exhibition in the All-Latvian Baby Congress where it will be possible to receive advice and consultations on pregnancy, birth, baby care, baby food and health from the best paediatricians and child development experts.

Mums will be invited to "Māmiņu kluba teltī" ("Tent of the Mums Club") to relax in an especially sweet club atmosphere, to chat, to get acquainted with new friends, to speak with specialists from "Māmiņu klubs", but their children during this time will be entertained by game images and development toys. It will be possible to watch episodes from the film "Emotional Education of Children" that is an educational film in ten episodes about growing up a child created with the support of the Ministry for Children and Family Affairs of the Republic of Latvia. "Māmiņu klubs" will offer an opportunity to get this film for free and talk with education experts and psychologists.
