The First InstalMat Show Creates Great Expectations in The Sector

InstalMAT, the first Integral Installation Materials Show to be organised in Spain and which will be held in May, is arousing great interest in the sector and is backed by its associations. Organised by Fira de Barcelona, InstalMat will take place from the 14th to the 17th of May 2008 in pavilion 1 of the Gran Via exhibition centre. It will offer integral solutions to installers and professionals who need installation-related materials, products and services, such as technical engineers, technical architects, engineers, architects; builders, heads of maintenance, building administrators, promoters, stockholders and distributors, suppliers and distributors of energy and decorators, among others.

According to the director of InstalMat, Carlos Arnoult, "companies have received this new trade show concept very well, especially those which consider that in the next few years replacement, maintenance and rehabilitation will account for a large part of its turnover".

Around 200 national and foreign exhibitors are expected to participate. Exhibits will be divided into 12 sectors: air conditioning, heating, water, gas, electricity, home automation, telecommunications, renewable energies, safety, regulation and control, attachment tools, and services.

In addition to being a commercial platform, InstalMAT aims to be a forum for know-how, debate and reflection, with a full programme of technical sessions which will be divided into three main theme blocks: home automation, new regulations and energy efficiency. The sessions are organised in association with the Instituto para la Diversificación y Ahorro de la Energía del Ministerio de Industria, Turismo y Comercio (IDAE) and the Instituto Catalán de Energía of the Catalan Generalitat (ICAEN). Attendees will receive an official diploma of participation issued by these institutes.

The show will also provide the setting for the general assembly of CONAIF, which will take place on Friday, 16th of May. The presidents of the six member federations and 50 Spanish provincial associations will attend.

The installations sector has a strong potential for development and important growth in building works, thanks to the appearance of new technologies, the improvement of techniques and materials, the growing importance of energy efficiency and the adaptation of installations to new Spanish and European safety and quality standards.
