The Silicon Cup was established in 2000 by a group of volunteers from the IT industry who got together and decided to combine their passion and their profession to raise meaningful amounts of money for charity. The regatta, which is based in Cowes on the Isle of Wight, attracts over 650 competitors each year that represent over 200 technology companies, including Microsoft, Intel, BT, Equinix, Attenda and RSA. Crews of any level of experience can enter and teams can either charter a yacht from Britannia Corporate Events or enter their own yacht. Competitors take part in a full sailing itinerary and also enjoy a packed social and networking programme, with all profits donated to charity. write your comments about the article :: © 2008 Exhibition News :: home page |
