Right on time for the silver anniversary, the 25th tyre fair Reifen 2008, which will take place at Messe Essen on May 20 23, is reporting a record number of participants. With over 560 registered companies, 20 percent more suppliers will take part than at the last Reifen. This year, the number of exhibitors will thus pass the magic "500 mark" for the first time. In comparison with the event two years ago, the exhibition area will simultaneously grow by 18 percent to 54,000 square metres. The international participation will also reach a new best mark: 65 percent of the exhibitors will come from abroad. Suppliers from 40 nations will display everything to do with tyres, wheels and chassis technology. Thus, Reifen 2008 will once again provide impressive proof of its position as the leading global fair in the sector.

Reifen 2008 will concentrate on tyres, casings, tubes, tyre accessories, workshop equipment as well as installations, devices and tools for tyre retreading, tyre repair and vulcanisation. Furthermore, exhibitors will offer services for the tyre trade and for tyre craftsmen. Its comprehensive and high-quality range on offer makes Reifen a popular presentation and ordering platform: Over 20,000 trade visitors from more than 80 countries are expected at Messe Essen for this international and globally unique overview of the sector. Thus, Reifen 2008 will once again become, true to its motto, the "No. 1 in Tyres and More".

Reifen in Essen is the sector's most important presentation date for ideas and innovations anywhere in the world. As for the first time in 2006, Messe Essen and Bundesverband Reifenhandel und Vulkaniseur-Handwerk (BRV - the "Federal Association of the Tyre Trade and the Vulcanisers' Skilled Trade") will honour outstanding new developments and new concepts with the Innovation Award once again this year too. It will be conferred in three categories: "Service / Marketing Ideas", "Concepts and Processes" as well as "Technology and Products". A jury with high-ranking members will assess the submitted competition contributions.

A large number of expert conferences, seminars and events will make Reifen 2008 a communication platform on all four days of the fair. As the ideal sponsor of the tyre fair, BRV traditionally helps to organise the programme of events. It will welcome the tyre sector to frank dialogues and, with its seminars and workshops, will once again offer information and contact possibilities at the specialist and informal levels. Above all, the general meeting of the European retreading association BIPAVER is also expected to set the points for the international development in the sector.

Already on the day before the fair, BRV will invite its around 1,750 member companies to the members' meeting. In seminars during Reifen 2008, the association will provide information about the handling of Internet customers and about optimum press and public relations. Expert information will be supplied by the conference entitled "Assembly of Runflat and Ultra-High-Performance Tyres". The Get-Together Party for exhibitors and visitors has a tradition and will this time bear the motto "Tyre Dealers on Stage".
