| Firehouse Expo  The 2008 Fire News Outstanding Leadership Award will go to the person who communicates effectively, cultivates trust, pride and commitment, and enhances the image and reputation of their department/agency. Candidates may have led an outstanding rescue at the scene of an accident or they may have managed an effective fire prevention campaign within their community. Nominees can be anyone from firefighter or paramedic to officer or battalion chief. "If they have noteworthy leadership qualities, we want to hear about them!" says Firehouse Events Group Show Manager, Mary Velline. The winner will be selected from a pool of qualified nominees and will receive a 3-Day Conference Admission to the 25th anniversary celebration of Firehouse Expo for themself and two company officers. The 2008 event will be held July 22-27 at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Maryland. In addition to being spotlighted at the show, the award winner and guests will receive access to over 80 conference sessions which cover more than 50 relevant topics to the fire, rescue and EMS industry. In addition to this, they will also be able to participate in roundtable discussions and podcasts, attend networking events such as the 1st annual Chili Bowl Cook-Off, hear the opening ceremonies and keynote presentation, and receive unlimited access to over 460 exhibitors displaying the latest products, services and technologies in the industry.
