The 8th Electric Power & Electric Engineering Technology Exhibition

The 8th China International Electric Power & Electric Engineering Technology Exhibition (China EPower 2008) will be held from 22 to 24 April 2008 at Intex Shanghai, China. Formerly known as China International Electric Power & Electric Engineering Technology Exhibition (EPETEE), China EPower is one of the leading exhibitions in China's power industry. China EPower 2008 is endorsed by the People's Government of Shanghai Municipality, Shanghai Foreign Economic Relation & Trade Commission, organised by Shanghai Electro-mechanical Engineering Association and World Expo Group Shanghai FESCO International Exhibition & Advertising Corp Ltd, Shanghai Electrical Technology Association and Singapore-based MP Asia Pte Ltd.

The show is managed by MP Zhongmao International (Shanghai) Pte Ltd, a joint-venture company by Shanghai Zhongmao International Exhibition Co Ltd and MP International Pte Ltd, and is supported by many power industry enterprises both home and abroad.

The launch of the new company and the show's first rebranding exercise in seven years was announced today to guests and media at the Grand Shanghai Tai Ping Yang Hotel. The organisers also revealed the new direction for the show to expand into the international markets to elevate its status into that of a leading global power exhibition.

The launch presentation was well-attended by many industry leaders as well as members of the media, including: Chen Kaiyong, Executive Director of Shanghai Electro-mechanical Engineering Association and former General Engineer of East China Electricity Grid Company Limited; Wang Zhipei, Secretary-General of Shanghai Electro-mechanical Engineering Association, and Gong Weigang, Vice Deputy and Secretary-General of Shanghai Convention & Exhibition Industries Association.

Journalists from some 50 trade and mass media, officials rom Consulate General of France (Shanghai), Consulate General of Czech Republic (Shanghai) and representatives from some 10 enterprises involved in electric power industry were also present.

Some 100 enterprises have confirmed their participation even though the show is still five months away to the show. After the re-branding exercise, many well-known enterprises from home and abroad have paid more attention to China EPower, and quite a number have expressed their interest in collaborating with China EPower to push the show to new heights.

The total exhibit space of China EPower 2008 is targeted to be 12,000 sqm, with participation from 400 exhibitors and 20,000 visitors. The exhibit profile focuses mainly on electric power and electric engineering technology, electricity generation technologies and equipment, renewable energy power generation and related products and services. It has been expanded from this year to include renewable energy power generation and electric factory and station equipment, as well as DeSOx & DeNOx.
