Almoneda - The Antiques, Art Galleries and Collectors Fair

Almoneda, the Antiques, Art Galleries and Collectors Fair, will bring together the most comprehensive range of objects with a sense of history that are at least 50 years old during the course of its eighteenth edition, which is due to take place between 29th March and 6th April at Feria de Madrid.

This fair, which is open to the general public and features the direct sale of the items on show, will consolidate its appeal as an ideal exhibition for all those who are interested in the past, presenting an endless range of unusual and unique items, affordable collector's items and art and antiques in general. The 210 brocanteurs, antique dealers and gallery-owners participating at the event will present more than 30,000 authentic and unique objects from all around the world, among which vintage decorative pieces and fashion accessories will feature prominently.

In the fair's tour of the recent past, where old items become fashionable, visitors will come across designer furniture dating from the 1950's, 1960's and 1970's, collector's items, archaeological pieces, silver, Isabelline jewellery, watches, dolls, dresses, walking-sticks, rugs, lamps and books. Unique pieces from another age, full of history, at affordable prices. The fair also presents an interesting selection of paintings and sculptures by contemporary artists. With all of these exhibits, ALMONEDA makes up a fascinating cultural event of general interest, one that is both familiar and entertaining. At this edition, the fair will stage an Open Doors Day on Tuesday 1st April, featuring free entry for all visitors.

Coinciding with its artistic dimension, at each edition ALMONEDA offers an exceptional opportunity for visitors to gain an insight into the decorative trends of the moment. Some of the fair's stands provide an excellent example of how to make the most of these items from the past, combining objects from yesteryear with old and modern works of art. All of these exhibits will be on show at a single venue for a few days, providing a perfect demonstration of how different styles and periods can be successfully combined.

ALMONEDA, organised by IFEMA, will be staged in Hall 7 at Feria de Madrid. The fair will be open through from 12.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. Tickets will cost 8 euros and include a practical Purchasing Guide that will help visitors to make their choices during their tour of the fair.
