The International Fair of Leather, Chemical Products, Components

The projected stability of the Brazilian economy, the development of new technologies, the creativity of the domestic industry in overcoming currency exchange issues, and the opening of new markets worldwide are some of the factors generating a positive environment for this year's Fimec.

The International Fair of Leather, Chemical Products, Components and Accessories, Equipment and Machines for Footwear and Tanneries reaches its 32nd edition cementing its position as the largest event in the Americas and ranking among the world's three largest fairs in the industry both for the number of exhibitors and the quality of the visiting public.

This year, approximately 50,000 professional visitors from all continents are once again expected to attend the event and see up close the products and services offered by nearly 1, 200 exhibitors over the fair's 40,000 m˛ (430, 556.42 ft˛). Like previous years, all the booths at the Fenac pavilions in Novo Hamburgo, Rio Grande do Sul, have been rented. The event takes place from April 8 to 11, from 1pm to 8pm, but on the 7th there will be business rounds included in the Buyer Project held by Assintecal, one of the fair's partner organizations along with Abeca, Abqtic, Abrameq, Aicsul, CICB, IBTeC, ACI-NH/CB/EV and Feevale. The official opening will be attended by authorities and special guests on April 8 at 6pm at the Fenac main Conference Hall.

"The current time is very positive. Since last year, we have been in contact with businesspeople from several states and also abroad and found there is great expectation regarding Fimec. This fair is really quite special because it brings together technology, releases, and new products and services, thus becoming a major stage for business contacts and closing deals. At this edition, we will be once again doing what we did last year, that is, making room in the morning for exhibitors wishing to meet with clients and visitors before the time scheduled for the gates to open. This way, they will have better conditions and more time to show their products and equipment via prior scheduling", says Júlio Cézar Camerini, President-Director of Fenac S/A.

INTERNATIONAL VISITORS - Fimec 2008 is expecting visitors from several countries over the fair's four days. In 2007, company owners and expert professionals from 42 countries, including Brazil, attended the fair. The largest foreign delegation came from Argentina, followed by Peru, Italy, Colombia, China and Uruguay. "Foreigners have long since found the way towards good business here at Fimec. That is why we make special arrangements to welcome exhibitors and visitors of all nationalities, offering them a structure that will even provide new features we are certain will please everyone", highlights Camerini. The large number of international visitors reflects the widespread advertising of the fair carried out in recent years. Fenac has enjoyed support from the industry's trade associations and also through collaboration with the main industry-related international publications at fairs in Europe, Asia and the Americas.
