| Trade Fair For Metal Packaging - METPACK The preparations for the sixth trade fair for metal packaging METPACK, which will take place at Messe Essen on April 22 - 26, are in full swing. Even now, it is already certain that the highest number of participating exhibitors and the largest rented area in the history of METPACK will be reached. Because the mood in the metal packaging sector is also very good; the exhibitors are expecting a trade fair with outstanding results. Every three years, METPACK is the undisputed number one in the metal packaging sector. The premier fair in the sector is characterised by a comprehensive range on offer and by concentrated know-how. These are the important dates and the central place where new developments and product improvements are presented every three years. All the market leaders are involved. The very good registration level confirms the leading role of METPACK. By the end of December, 210 exhibitors had made definite registrations. Three quarters will come to Essen from abroad, i.e. from 25 countries on four continents. Exhibitors from Brazil, Mexico and India will be there as newcomers. Over 20 Chinese exhibitors have registered, including 12 on the Chinese cooperative booth. Nine Chinese exhibitors already took part in METPACK 2005. It has now been possible to increase this figure considerably. The METPACK Award, the prize for the greatest innovation presented at METPACK, will be offered once again in 2008 as well. It is well-known that the manufacturers develop their innovations by the METPACK deadline in order to introduce them for the first time. Therefore, the METPACK committee and the fair management are particularly interested in honouring companies which have distinguished themselves in this field. Products on display at METPACK are allowed to enter the competition. The METPACK Conferenece on New Technologies for Metal Packaging will be staged in the morning of April 23, 2008. The main subject areas in lectures and discussions will relate to "Optimising the Tinplate Surface" and "Advanced Canbody Forming". The chosen dates of METPACK are intended to accommodate, above all, the visitors travelling from far away. On three days, METPACK (April 22 26, 2008) will coincide with the Interpack trade fair which will take place at Messe Düsseldorf on April 24 30, 2008.
