| Ingres Global Partner Summit 2008 Ingres Corporation, a leading open source information management company for enterprise applications, announced that its first annual Global Partner Summit will be held April 8 – 9, 2008, at the Hilton Prague, in Prague, Czech Republic. The summit will enable Ingres and its partners to come together to share experiences, strategies, and discuss ways for organisations to benefit using Ingres solutions. "The 2008 Ingres Partner Summit is an excellent opportunity to learn first hand how organisations can apply open source practices to win in the competitive global marketplace, " said Roger Burkhardt, president and CEO of Ingres. "Partnerships are essential to our success and critical for delivering value to our customers. This is why long-term strategic business partnerships are central to our company strategy." "The Ingres Partner Summit will be a great opportunity for the companies participating in the Ingres Involve program to meet and share insights, " said Roy Hann, Technical Director, Rational Commerce Ltd. "It will be a chance to exchange ideas and opinions about how our customers are using Ingres to exploit new opportunities and to overcome obstacles, and how we can continue to assist them in doing that. It is always useful to hear about ideas that have succeeded in other regions that could be applied to our own, so we benefit from the experiences and creativity of one another. I am really looking forward to attending. This year's conference will address a variety of topics including how to use Ingres products to improve productivity, the role of open source solutions as a whole in a competitive marketplace, and the latest developments and innovations around Ingres software. The summit affords an opportunity for partners from all over the world to meet and exchange ideas and experiences about open source technologies, as well expand their network of colleagues. Steve Shine, senior vice president of world wide sales and support at Ingres will open the conference with a presentation entitled, "Why Partners Are Key" which outlines the reciprocal benefits generated by an Ingres partnership. Partners such as Infor, Wipro, Alfresco, JasperSoft, and others will also take the stage on a variety of subjects, including how they made their businesses more efficient using the Ingres database and the future of open source solutions as a way to increase revenue and compete more efficiently in a global economy. Day two of the summit breaks into track sessions around commercial, server, and application interests. Emma McGrattan, senior vice president of engineering at Ingres, will present a session entitled "Embedding Ingres, Easy Peasy" which will outline how to do a silent, unattended install that can be configured and tuned to an application. write your comments about the article :: © 2008 Exhibition News :: home page |
