| Conference and Trade Fair on Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies Ole von Beust, Mayor of Hamburg, has agreed to take on patronage of the H2Expo 2008. "The H2Expo plays an important part as an expert forum, and is a powerful driving force for the development and application of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies in Germany and Europe, " said Mayor von Beust. "This is very important with a view to climate protection, and for secured, sustainable energy supplies." He went on to say that Hamburg was the optimal venue for the H2Expo, as the metropolitan region of Hamburg aims to become a model for climate protection, and has already developed into a competence centre for renewable energies. The 7th International Conference and Trade Fair on Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies, to be held at the CCH-Congress Center Hamburg from 22 to 23 October 2008, brings together scientists from all over the world, to present their research results and projects. There will also be presentations by leading manufacturers of their new developments and industrial and commercial applications. Last year's H2Expo was attended by some 1400 participants and trade visitors from Germany and abroad. Presentations were made by 70 eminent researchers, engineers and industrial representatives from 15 nations at the scientific conference, on the current status of research and development. All in all the conference in 2006 had some 30% more participants than the previous year's event. The exhibition was also larger than in 2005, with presentations of innovative products and services made by 44 leading companies and institutions. By accepting patronage of the H2Expo in 2008, Mayor von Beust underlines the leading position taken by Hamburg in Europe's hydrogen and fuel cell technologies. Hamburg is working in a wide range of projects in this forward-looking area, and is deploying these technologies for example in buses, boats, baggage handling at the airport, and in heating systems. The Hamburg initiative for fuel cells and hydrogen technology is making a major contribution to cooperation between research & development and business applications in this technology. write your comments about the article :: © 2008 Exhibition News :: home page |
