| Domotechnica-2008 ![]() The diverse product portfolio at the International Trade Fair for Household Appliances is for the first time being presented in a new segmentation which is based on the exhibitors' sales structure. A content-focussed approach is taken by Specials on the trend themes "coffee enjoyment", "energy efficiency" and "products for senior citizens" as well as the "Hall of Fame" with the Plus X Award. The product range presented by the 700 suppliers is distributed in Halls 10 and 11 at Koelnmesse between the segments "domo - Selection", "Global Sources" and "domo - Components", which are clearly separated from each other spatially and visually. As a result, the different trade visitor groups can specifically locate the exhibitors of interest to them. "domo Selection" is presenting brand products from national and international exhibitors - in other words, products which set standards in terms of quality, function, design or lifestyle. "Global Sources" is focusing on the products and technical diversity of the so-called "Emerging Markets", that means household electrical appliances in the medium and lower-price categories produced by international manufacturers, which are increasingly geared to the large forms of the trade. In contrast, "domo - Components" is not presenting any domestic electrical appliances but the corresponding components and accessories instead. In the "domo - Selection" sector in addition to the exhibitors' product range, various specials will focus on the contents of current trend themes thus generating impulses for the industry and trade. Here the theme spectrum extends from "COFFEE COLOGNE" through to the "50+ - The future market for household appliance technology" Special and the "Energy efficiency in household appliances" Special up to the "Hall of Fame" with the Plus X Award. The respective themes will be covered more extensively in the form of special shows, specialist lectures or panel discussions.
