| 2008 Vectren Dayton Air Show Officials announced the 2008 Vectren Dayton Air Show presented by Kroger will be held on July 19th and 20th at the Dayton International Airport. These dates are the show's traditional third weekend time slot and coincide with the prestigious Aviation Hall of Fame weekend. 2008 will be the 34th annual air show at the Birthplace of Aviation, and is considered by many as Dayton's and premier summer event. Air show officials also announced that due to scheduling conflicts, the show was unable to secure a formation jet team in 2008 reasonably close to its preferred July time frame. The show declined an alternative spring date offer from a jet team, opting instead for a major military attraction on its traditional July weekend. Announcement of this attraction is expected early next year and show officials promise it will be "very special" for the Dayton community. "We are pleased to return to our traditional weekend and have a sensational lineup developing for 2008, " stated Michael Emoff, Chairman of the USATS Board of Trustees, producers of the event. "What we have coming to Dayton will be some of the best in the world both in civilian and military attractions.
