| Boot-2008 boot 2008 in Düsseldorf to set sail in ship shape - 1,650 exhibitors from 55 countries will be showcased in January - Positive industry climate boosts commitment in Düsseldorf. In just a few weeks, the moment will have arrived: boot will sail into the halls at the Düsseldorf Trade Fair Center as an event in ship shape. At the 39th staging of the world's No. 1 yachting and watersports trade fair from 19 to 27 January 2008, some 1,650 exhibitors from 55 countries will showcase their premieres, products and services for all aspects of yachting and watersports across 17 halls, totalling an exhibition area of 220,000 square metres. The favourable climate in industry abroad combined with the pick-up in the German economy have triggered a significant boost in demand for stand space from the exhibiting industry. Messe Düsseldorf expects that, with the halls filled to capacity, not only will a new record be reached in exhibition space booked but the fair will represent a top international product range. Over 600 exhibitors are based outside Germany and will occupy just under half of the floor space at boot 2008. The country with the largest exhibitor contingent after Germany will be the Netherlands with 140 participants, followed by Italy (90), France (65) as well as the UK and Austria, each with 25 companies. The Scandinavians, Americans and Polish will make their presence more strongly felt than in previous years. Suppliers of boats and yachts traditionally form the biggest group of exhibitors at boot. Spread across eleven halls, equivalent to 140, 000 square metres, the world's biggest showcase of vessels under cover will feature an array of 2,000 boats of all types and sizes. Whether dinghy, canoe or superyacht – in Düsseldorf everyone can be sure of finding their very own dream boat. Sailing vessels, motorised boats and yachts will occupy nine exhibition halls alone. Four hundred international boatyards and dealers are inviting visitors to take a voyage around the world of big brands and names, spanning the arc from Ferretti to Sunseeker, from Bénéteau to Yachtwerft Greifswald. This product category will claim 120,000 square metres of floor space, a good 55 percent of the total exhibition area. Against the backdrop of a thriving international market for motorised as well as sailing yachts, many exhibitors have once again extended their presentations substantially. Every last bit of space in the motorboat Halls 6, 10 to 12 and 15 will used by the 250 yards, importers and dealers who are to set up shop there. Good news is that small and medium sized boats are making a big comeback. Boats of US origin will benefit from the favourable exchange rate with the euro. In 2008, boot will, of course, once again do justice to its hallmark – luxurious large yachts. In Hall 6, 70 yachts of up to 31 metres in length will be berthed. About 30 of these will arrive in Düsseldorf on the water and then be meticulously manoeuvred into the halls using special transporters. Strong demand for exhibition space means that, in addition to Halls 16 and 17 which are traditionally reserved for sailing boats and yachts, the roughly 150 exhibitors will this year also spill over into Hall 2. As a result, there has been a slight reshuffle of venues – the Sailing Center will no longer be in Hall 17 but instead will share Hall 2 with suppliers of dinghies and cats. The Superyacht Show in Hall 7 and 7a is enjoying sustained growth. No fewer than 110 leading representatives of this exclusive business – shipyards, engineers, designers and industry-specific equipment suppliers – will be on site with plans, models and other documentation at information stands. Among them will be joint presentations from Germany, France and the Middle East. The Dutch superyacht builders have chosen to set up their joint stand in Hall 15. The communications hub and meeting point for the entire industry will be the Superyacht Club in Hall 7. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Exhibition News :: home page |
