| The First Truck & Bus World Forum ![]() In an increasingly globalised and competitive world, the economic, social and environmental pressure on goods distribution and public transport in urban areas will continue to rise in the foreseeable future. Road transport has a strategic role to play, since it carries more than 70% of all goods by volume and more than 90% by value. Yet, energy shortages, CO2 emissions and urban congestion are all critical issues that must also be taken into consideration. Vehicle manufacturers, public-transport operators and legislators are trying to tackle these issues, by developing more efficient vehicles and transport systems solutions, in order to meet increasing economic demands and the need for sustainable development. The Truck & Bus World Forum will hold conferences to discuss all these topics, in order to help participants develop strategies for the future. The event is co-organised by the Rhône-Alpes region of south-eastern France and the City of Lyons, with the support of the Rhône-Alpes Automotive Cluster, the Lyons Urban Truck & Bus 2015 cluster and Automotive Sweden. It is coordinated by ERAI, which is the economic development agency for the Rhône-Alpes region. Three key international strategic partners are also involved – the Society of Automotive Engineers, Global Insight and the Chinese Automotive Review. The Truck & Bus World Forum 2007 will bring together various partners such as Challenge Bibendum Michelin, ITS Congress Association, UBIFRANCE (France's export-support agency), INRETS, IFP, Keolis, Eurocities, the Chamber of Commerce of Lyons, the Scandinavian Automotive Suppliers Federation, Classe Export, Proximum, Thésame and the Invest in France Agency. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Exhibition News :: home page |
