| 3rd "Gulf in Jordan" Forum and Exhibition A committee from Kuwait, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Jordan launched on Wednesday a promotional campaign for the 3rd "Gulf in Jordan" forum and exhibition. The "Gulf in Jordan" forum and exhibition, due to be held January 8-11, 2008 at the King Hussein Ben Talal Convention Centre at the Dead Sea. According to UAE-national Nasser Al Mulla, deputy chairman of the forum's steering committee, those in charge of the forum are operating within the framework of a marketing strategy that targets Gulf investors, whether as individuals or corporations in order to introduce investment opportunities available in Jordan and mobilise the highest level possible of back-up and participation. Speaking at a press conference, Kuwaiti-national Riyadh Sharaf, chairman of the forum's steering committee, commended the excellent economic and trade relations between Jordan on the one hand and Kuwait and the Gulf countries on the other hand, stressing Jordan's willingness to promote these relations and expand them for the benefit of all parties. Sharaf reviewed the development of economic ties between Jordan and the Gulf in the last six years, during which Gulf investments in Jordan increased considerably, covering several commercial and service sectors in addition to tourism, industry, education and other fields. Expecting new agreements and investments to be initiated by investors from the Gulf during the coming forum, he valued Jordan's rewarding investment climate and attractive opportunities for businessmen and investors, quoting the facilities given to foreign businesses.
