| Beautyworld-2008 For the beauty and cosmetic sector, the new business year begins in Frankfurt am Main at the end of January. At Beautyworld – International Trade Fair for the Perfumery, Drug Store, Cosmetics and Hairdressing Trade – from 25 to 27 January 2008, proprietor-run specialist retailers take this opportunity to stock up again after the Christmas business and to find out about the latest products. "Beautyworld has been the most important order venue for the retail perfumery trade for some 50 years now. Apart from accessories, it is new brands and small niche brands with little or no field sales force that specialist retailers can discover here. In addition to goods, they can also find new ideas and concepts", says Werner Hariegel, General Manager of the German Perfumery Association explaining the significance of Beautyworld as an order venue for the sector. With the new, shorter sequence of days – Friday to Sunday – and an attractive location in exhibition halls close to the City Entrance, Beautyworld offers visitors the optimum setting and takes due account of the insufficient time at the disposal of both trade and industry. Around 300 exhibitors from all over the world are expected at Beautyworld 2008. In Hall 1.1, they will be showing their latest products from the manicure, pedicure, body care, accessories and drug store segments. In Hall 1.2, everything revolves around the subjects of cosmetics, fragrances, niche brands, natural cosmetics and wellness. At the Competence Centre, which will be located in Hall 1.2 for the first time in 2008, Beautyworld turns the spotlight on the subjects of basic and further training. In workshops and lectures on subjects, such as sales promotion, communication, quality management and recruitment, top speakers will pass on their knowledge to Beautyworld visitors and offer a programme of interest not only to perfumery proprietors but also to their employees and trainees. Young and small companies still looking for suitable channels of distribution will make presentations at the 'Talents of Beauty' area in Hall 1.2.
