| EuroShop 2008 For the first time, EuroShop 2008, The Global Retail Trade Fair, will occupy over 1 million square feet of net exhibit space in 15 halls. From February 23 – 27, 2008, 1, 600 exhibitors from more than 50 countries will showcase their products and technologies at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany. The EuroShop 2008 exhibits will be complemented by an extensive ancillary program addressing the thematic interests of the target groups for all four EuroShop segments: EuroConcept, EuroSales, EuroCIS and EuroExpo. The first event (February 23) will be the EuroShop Retail Design Conference (formerly the "Architects' and Designers' Congress") organized by the EHI Retail Institute. High-caliber architects and experts from world-renowned retail businesses will present trends, projects and visions relating to topics in retail design. The International EuroShop POP Conference will take place on February 26 – coordinated by the world's leading association for the industry, POPAI, in collaboration with the EHI Retail Institute. The program will include the introduction of results from research projects, groundbreaking case studies and trend analyses on all aspects of marketing for retail. The conference will be opened by POPAI CEO Dick Blatt and the POPAI Board will join the participants. From February 24 – 25, retail technology days europe will discuss topics for IT experts dealing with European retailers. A total of 250 participants are expected to attend this high-caliber congress, which is also coordinated by the EHI and will for the first time also feature an international award ceremony. As part of a gala dinner on February 24, the Retail Technology Awards Europe (RETA) will be handed out in recognition for outstanding IT solutions in three categories. Attendance of the EHI Retail Innovation Conference on February 27 will be by invitation only. This congress is aimed primarily at the top management from retail and industry and simultaneously serves as the EHI's annual general meeting. The gala event in the evening will be the occasion for the presentation of the first-ever EHI Wissenschaftspreis Handel in honor of outstanding scientific work focusing on retail.
