| International Plants and Flower Exhibition Messe Essen will become the number-one marketplace of the green sector on January 24-27 when the 26th IPM opens its doors. Around 1400 exhibitors from over 40 countries have announced their participation. On four days, they will show innovations, refinements and services from the "Plants", "Technology", "Floriculture" and "Sales Promotion" sections to the international specialists who will take their investment and procurement decisions in Essen. Not only the very latest range offered by the exhibitors but also the first-rate supporting programme will ensure that visitors will be given the stimuli which they need for the new horticultural year. Japan and Brazil will once again be involved with cooperative booths; Korea will participate for the first time. The successes of the "foreign offshoots" IPM Dubai and IPM China are noticeable too. Even now, exhibitors and visitors from the growth markets have already promised to take part in IPM 2008. An increase in the participation of Italian and Dutch exhibitors in IPM is also being registered. With its four main focal points ("Plants", "Technology", "Floriculture" and "Sales Promotion") and with the first-rate international supporting programme, IPM will tap the pulse of the sector and will offer the stimuli which the market needs. In the interest of even more clearly recognisable organisation, the Floriculture exhibition section will, for the first time, also be located in Hall 4, in the middle of the fair site. The better connection to other floricultural halls and to the Green City should contribute to an additional rise in the attractiveness of the Floriculture section. One important contact point at IPM will be the Horticultural Info Center in the Green City in Hall 1A where Zentralverband Gartenbau e.V. (ZVG - the "Central Horticultural Association"), Landesverband Gartenbau Rheinland e.V. (the "Rhineland Federal State Horticultural Association") and Landesverband Gartenbau Westfalen-Lippe e.V. (the "Westphalia-Lippe Federal State Horticultural Association") will present their comprehensive spectrum of services. All questions about modern plant breeding will be dealt with in the "Breeding Workshop". Bundesverband der Einzelhandelsgärtner (the "Federal Association of Retail Gardeners") will provide information about the new features in the "Viva Balkonia" sales-promoting campaign. Together with Messe Essen, ZVG is, for the first time, organising the "Plant Innovation Showcase" in which exhibitors will be able to present their newly bred varieties and new wild and growth forms which have not been known until now. On the show stage in the Green City in Hall 1A, Fachverband Deutscher Floristen will present innovations, trends and events of the floricultural scene. In a large number of competitions, experienced and young florists will compete for honours. Florists from Korea will interpret the flower in a Far Eastern way. In the new "Ideas Bouquets" stage show initiated by FDF and the "florist" trade journal, top designers will introduce individually designed tied workpieces. On its booth in the Green City in Hall 1A, Haus Bloom's will not only devote itself to promoting youngsters and to presenting goods but will also supply ideas for mourning floriculture and for art and craft on the basis of wood. The International Horticultural Forum on Eastern Europe will provide information about the developments of horticulture in various Eastern European countries. Experts will report on the situation in their countries and will indicate market opportunities. The two-day AL INVEST entrepreneurs' meeting with companies from South America will take place for the fourth time. Producers, traders and logisticians from all over the world will get together in the BGI Trade Center. In addition to traditional overseas exhibitors from Colombia, Ecuador and Kenya, breeders from Australia and England will also take part for the first time. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Exhibition News :: home page |
