Sweets Middle East

Sweets Middle East, which takes place for the first time from 18th to 20th November 2007, is based on the successful concept behind the International Sweets and Biscuits Fair (ISM) in Cologne. It will be supported by the International Sweets and Biscuits Fair Working Group (AISM). On show will be a broad range of confectionery, snack items, ice cream and raw pastes. Sweets Middle East will be staged by Koelnmesse in cooperation with the Dubai World Trade Centre at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Koelnmesse is continuing to step up its involvement in the food sector outside of Germany. Two new spin-offs of successful trade fairs held in Cologne will be launched abroad in 2007: International Sweet & SnackTec China in Shanghai, China, and Sweets Middle East in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The aim of these events is to enable export-orientated companies to enter promising new markets in Asia and the Middle East. Koelnmesse, the organiser of the new fairs, will provide expert assistance in this process from the beginning.

With the addition of International Sweet & SnackTec China and Sweets Middle East, Koelnmesse's portfolio of food-related events now numbers 19 fairs and congresses. Anuga, ISM, Anuga FoodTec, ProSweets Cologne and the vending fair Eu'Vend are all trade fairs that take place in Cologne. Added to these are four congress events: the Organic Trade Forum, WellFood, Chilled Food and the Cologne FoodTec Congress.

Outside Germany, the Koelnmesse food-related events are Thaifex – World of Food Asia, Anapoorna -World of Food India, World of Food China, Sweets China and the technology fairs International FoodTec India, Dairy Universe India, Sweet & Snack Factory India and International FoodTec China.
