| The International Wire and Cable Symposium Prysmian Cables & Systems will play a major role at next week's 56th annual International Wire and Cable Symposium, taking place at Lake Buena Vista, Florida, USA. The company will present a total of six technical papers related to new developments in the telecoms environment, many of which are driven by the current surge in the broadband market. Two of the papers relate to new cables for Fibre to the Home applications, one for indoor and the other for outdoor deployment. A further two papers look at the subject of optical fibre and how Prysmian has optimized its product range to suit the needs of the access network with both bend insensitive and reduced diameter fibre. Finally, two papers are devoted to long distance applications and look at the electrical and thermal performance enhancements in Optical Ground Wire (OPGW) cables for use on high voltage overhead transmission lines. The papers are the result of development work carried out both at local production facilities in Australia, Brazil and Italy and also at Prysmian's Central R & D headquarters in Milan, Italy. The work emphasizes the company's ongoing commitment to constant product improvement and innovation in the rapidly developing telecoms environment. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Exhibition News :: home page |
