| Health+Wellness and Fashion+Beauty trade fairs The darkest days of the winter in November are overcome with the help of two energetic events Health+Wellness and Fashion+Beauty at the Helsinki Fair Centre. Theme for the health event is being merciful towards oneself, the fashion and beauty event focuses on being vain without feeling guilty. Health+Wellbeing gives tips on maintaining good health both physically and mentally, relationships, spiritual growth, and how to relax and unwind. Top lectures include information on sugar addiction, stomach problems, sleep and memory disorders, back problems, love, growing older, the importance of doing nothing, pressures of the work life and parenthood. The lecturers include top names from all areas of health including nutrition expert Patrick Borg, author and priest Jaakko Heinimäki, Pilates trainer Marja Putkisto, neurologist Markku Partinen and many more. Finland's professors, doctors and specialists give speeches at the Clinic stage on current health related topics including skin problems, birth control at different ages, cancer, and plastic surgery just to mention a few. After the speeches the speakers will give personal advice to visitors. Another novelty at the fair is Burn Out room where visitors can relax and release stress under heavy blankets, relaxing lights and colours. Room for mental and physical balance gives the visitors the opportunity to try out different types of exercise for both body and soul. These exercises include jomon, asahi, and Mentastics among other. At the fair the visitors also have the opportunity for joga and trying out different dance styles from salsa to oriental groove. This event is traditionally the place to test your health. Visitors can, for example, test bone density, cholesterol, percentage of fat, weight index, blood sugar, eye pressure, risk of getting type 2 diabetes, and the condition of one's scalp and skin. The grand fashion shows form the centre of this event. The shows bring the latest designs to the catwalk together with Finland's top models. Wedding Fashion 2008 by Häät.fi presents the latest trends in wedding gowns. The youth and street wear also has its own platform in the Season event. The Finnish Champion in body painting is selected on Saturday with the theme Japanese Manga comics. On Sunday the make up artists compete in two series: for students the theme is 1950s and look-alike for the professionals. Also both Finnish and foreign top names compete in nail design and decoration at the fair. Health+Wellness is the largest wellbeing event in the Nordic Countries and it is organised this year for the 11th time. The sponsor of the event is Tempur Suomi Oy, famous for its pillows and mattresses. Fashion+Beauty presents everything related to both fashion and beauty, and provides a special forum for beauty professionals on Friday.
