| Eco Expo Asia  The date is now set for Hong Kong's only environmental protection fair - Eco Expo Asia. Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd., this year's fair will take place from 27 – 30 October 2007 at AsiaWorld Expo. Nearly 8, 000 visitors from 79 countries and regions came to see the first show in 2006, which had 128 exhibitors from 19 countries and regions. Following the success of last year's seminar programme, a specialised event, Eco Asia Conference, will again run alongside the show. As the environment is important to everyone - Eco Expo Asia is also open to the public on 30 October 2007.The show will cover three main areas – Green World, Green Enterprise and Green Living. Green World is devoted to environmental protection systems, controls and technologies for nationwide implementation. The Green Enterprise category will feature manufacturing equipment, systems and raw materials for businesses aiming to add environmentally friendly practices to their daily operations; while Green Living will include eco-friendly products and services for consumers. Eco Expo Asia is the perfect platform to take advantage of the many new business opportunities for the environmental protection industry in the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong. Commercial, governmental and non-governmental organisations are keen to take part in the fair. The Chinese mainland has the fourth largest economy in the world. However, rapid economic growth, industrialisation and urbanisation have generated additional pressures on the environment.
