| Trako 2007, The 7th International Railway Fair Nearly 350 exhibitors from 17 countries will take part in TRAKO 2007, the 7th International Railway Fair, which begins on 10 October in Gdańsk. It is the largest and most prestigious rail industry meeting in Poland and one of the largest such meetings in Europe. The latest in rolling stock from Poland and abroad will be on display, presented by Bombardier, General Electric, Siemens, Newag, PESA, PKP Regional Services, PKP Intercity, Czech Railways and Mazowieckie Railways. Brand new this year is our tram exhibit. This year's event will begin with a Debate on Railway in Poland in 2020 with the representatives of the Ministry of Transport, the European Commission and international railway organisations. The aim of the Debate is to start a discussion on the future of rail transport and attempt to map out its development directions. New sectors will be presented at the Fair for the first time: trams, rail freight and logistics. The offer dedicated to urban rail transport has been brought to TRAKO thanks to our partnership with the Chamber of Urban Transport (IGKM), which has also prepared a seminar for tram companies, to take place at the Fair. This topic will be supplemented by a Seminar on Rail Transport in Metropolitan Areas prepared by the Railway Scientific and Technical Centre (CNTK), addressed to local governments, administrators and operators of tram transport in metropolitan areas, et al. The rail freight and logistics sector is a joint undertaking by the Commercial Chamber of Land Transport (IGTL) and the Polish International Freight Forwarders Association (PIFFA). These organisations have prepared a seminar, which will be summed up by a Debate on The Rail Transport Market in Poland – Past Experience and Future Forecasts. For the first time, TRAKO will host the Community of European Railforwarders (IBS), an organisation of private European rail freight operators. TRAKO will also host the General Meeting of IBS Members. This year's programme is also continuing the events which gained the approval of the participants in previous editions. It is for the third time that the Fair is accompanied by a charity auction for the Children's Ward of Rev. E. Dutkiewicz Hospice in Gdańsk. A "Dream Journey" Drawing Competition for children and young people was carried out together with the Hospice Foundation. The revenue from the sale of the competition entries will support the Hospice. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Exhibition News :: home page |
