| Europe's Biotechnology Fair ![]() The biotechnology sector is growing fast - and with it BIOTECHNICA. This year, Deutsche Messe expects more than 900 exhibitors from around 30 countries in Europe, America and Asia. They will showcase the latest products and trends on a total display area of 13, 000 square meters. Deutsche Messe forecasts a slight increase in the number of German exhibitors at BIOTECHNICA 2007 - and a significant increase in the number of exhibitors from Europe. Visitor attendance from Germany and abroad is expected to increase at a similar rate. BIOTECHNICA 2007 will be officially opened in the Convention Center at the Hannover Exhibition Grounds on the evening of 8 October by Günter Verheugen, Vice-President of the European Commission, Christian Wulff, Premier of Lower Saxony, and high-caliber representatives of the biotechnology sector. BIOTECHNICA 2007 will cover the entire "color spectrum" of modern biotechnology. Pharmaceuticals/medicine ("red" biotechnology) will feature prominently in 2007. Industrial ("white") biotechnology is experiencing strong and sustained growth. "Green" biotechnology - in particular genetic engineering and environmental biotechnology - is playing an increasingly important role. In all of these areas the BIOTECHNICA exhibitors will be presenting equipment, laboratory apparatus, services, as well as sophisticated IT solutions. The program of lectures and conferences in the Convention Center will be a further highlight at this year's BIOTECHNICA. This program augments the "PARTNERING" platform and the "Innovations Forum". The scheduled lineup includes the German Biotechnology Days, the Merck Forum and the Vaccine Development Days. Further key topics on the agenda include white biotechnology, regenerative medicine, nano-biotechnology, plant biotechnology, food biotechnology and biomass. Last but not least, BIOTECHNICA 2007 will include the highly successful recruitment platform "Jobvector Days". The goal behind the new concept is to transform BIOTECHNICA into a broad-based business event. This is mirrored in the decision to relocate the exhibition to Halls 8 and 9 in the southern section of the Hannover Exhibition Grounds. These halls are directly adjacent to the Convention Center, which offers an extensive choice of meeting rooms plus state-of-the-art presentation equipment. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Exhibition News :: home page |
