| 2nd Edition of Finitura & Oltre From 19 to 22 September 2007, Bergamo will once again become the Italian and European capital of industrial finishing: the Fiera Nuova new fair grounds will be hosting the second edition of FINITURA & OLTRE, the only large-scale specialist exhibition entirely dedicated to the plants, machines, products and technologies used for industrial surface finishing. 180 companies will be participating, making it the highest profile event on the national and international scene with an exhibition area of 8, 000m²: it will cover pre-treatment and varnishing, de-greasing with solvents, washing with aqueous solutions, vibro-finishing and barrel-finishing techniques, not to mention mechanical finishing, sanding and shot blasting. Last but not least it will feature technical galvanising techniques, environmentally friendly finishing equipment, centrifugation and equipment for controlling processes and third party work. Particular attention will be dedicated to environmental issues: new research which can be implemented immediately will be presented, so that all processes involved in finishing will take a positive step towards zero-polluting industrial development. The exhibition pavilions will be playing host to a large display entitled "Object-function-quality", where various extraordinary manufactured goods will be on show, along with the relevant tools used to create and finish them. All are historical objects with finishes of the highest level, made throughout the course of the Nineteenth and early Twentieth centuries. The conference which will open the event will run along the same lines. "From proto-design to design: the quality of the object, from past to present" will feature high-level contributions from the academic world as well as those of architecture, design and the industry. Emphasis will be placed on promoting comparison, discourse and high profile collaborations between businesses and universities. Last but not least, the best finishing designs created by the students of Industrial Design in the Architecture Faculty of Florence University will receive an award, and will be exhibited during the four days of the event. This innovative initiative has set itself the goal of promoting collaborations between young specialist designers and the world of industry in a tangible manner. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Exhibition News :: home page |
