International Watersports Exhibition

Visitors to the INTERBOOT in Friedrichshafen will be able to closely marvel at two of the high-tech yachts just a few weeks after the America's Cup sailing event: the GER 72 yacht of the German America's Cup team and the Shosholoza of the South African team drop anchor in the open air grounds. The international water sports exhibition takes place from Saturday, 22nd to Sunday, 30th September 2007. About 550 exhibitors from 25 countries will be presenting the 2008 premieres and new products.

Whether modern retro classics, noble yachts, sporty motorboats, elegant sail boats, an appropriate yacht for Mediterranean districts or a beginner's boat suitable for families; whether diving accessories or surfing equipment – the INTERBOOT offers a comprehensive market overview in nine halls and at the exhibition lake. An ideal starting point for test sailing is the INTERBOOT harbour.

The most beautiful water sport districts will be presented in hall A4 – the charter forum is a starting point for everyone who enjoys maritime travel. The INTERBOOT captures its visitors in hall A4 into the under water world, and trendy "water fun-sports" are the subject of the INTERSURF (hall A6). The INTERBOOT gets a sporty accent with top class events like the motor boat Liquid Quarter Mile or the Ladies Match Cup which meanwhile counts as the top event in ladies match racing in Germany.

A "Testival of Water Sports" awaits visitors at the INTERBOOT harbour, at the exhibition lake and in all the halls. Everyone who would like to take part actively while at the exhibition, can try different sports here – at, on and under the water. With a unique new offer available throughout Europe, the INTERBOOT would like to make water sport appetizing for visitors who do not (yet) possess a boat license: Approximately 20 modern rubber dinghies are ready at the promenade for reconnaissance trips.

Additionally, exhibition visitors again have the opportunity to undertake their first diving attempts in the diving pool in hall A4. Children and youngsters can daily gather their first sailing experience or register for the "exhibition lake permit" and there is motor boat training at the harbour especially for women. "We would not only like to show boats and yachts to our visitors, but also give them the possibility to try out as many water sports as possible, " explains project manager Dirk Kreidenweiss.
