Ceatec Japan 2007

The CEATEC JAPAN Management Office has announced that CEATEC JAPAN 2007 has been named an official event of the Japan International Contents Festival, or CoFesta 2007. Comprising 18 official events held from September 19 to October 28, CoFesta 2007 is set to become not only a first in Japan, but one of the largest contents festivals in the world.

CoFesta 2007 represents an organic linkage of a wide variety of contents-related events in areas including games, animation, manga (comics) and characters, music, broadcasting and film. The Festival was established to raise the profile of these individual events and show the dynamism of Japan's contents industries to the world.

The main character for CoFesta 2007 is Koji Yakusho, one of Japan's best-known actors and a familiar face globally. Kashiwa Sato is in charge of overall art design as the Art Director, and Joe Hisaishi, who has scored dozens of famous Japanese films, has written the theme music.

Developments in digital technologies have spurred widespread and rapid change in the industrial structure, as can be seen in the convergence of information appliances, broadcasting and communications in recent years. Furthermore, the spread of broadband infrastructures, Web 2.0 and other technologies are making it easy to create contents that span national borders, creating new industries and markets at a pace never seen before.
