| International Water Sports Exhibition Visitors to the INTERBOOT in Friedrichshafen will be able to closely marvel at two of the high-tech yachts just a few weeks after the America's Cup sailing event: the GER 72 yacht of the German America's Cup team and the Shosholoza RSA 48 of the South African team drop anchor in the open air grounds. The international water sports exhibition takes place from Saturday, 22nd to Sunday, 30th September 2007. About 550 exhibitors from 25 countries will be presenting the 2008 premieres and new products. Whether modern retro classics, noble yachts, sporty motorboats, elegant sail boats, an appropriate yacht for Mediterranean districts or a beginner's boat suitable for families; whether diving accessories or surfing equipment – the INTERBOOT offers a wide spectrum in nine halls and at the exhibition lake. Europe's leading manufacturers, importers and dealers will be present in Friedrichshafen and offer visitors a comprehensive market overview. An ideal starting point for test sailing is the INTERBOOT harbour. The INTERBOOT brings a piece of the America's Cup history to Friedrichshafen: In the open air grounds visitors can get a closer look at two of the Cup yachts: The GER 72 from the United Internet Teams and the South African yacht Shosholoza RSA 48, equipped with high-tech instruments and decorated with traditional African ornaments. Both yachts will be in a "bug to bug" position in the open air grounds. Visitors will be able to take a look at the decks, the 33 metre high masts and the high-tech equipment from a specially constructed platform. There are over 100 boats in the INTERBOOT harbour directly at the Lake Constance waterfront. The harbour is not only a starting point for trials but also a welcoming meeting point to wind up a long exhibition day in a maritime atmosphere at the waterside. Bus shuttles connect to the INTERBOOT harbour (only ten minutes away from the exhibition centre) which is now accessible without charge to those who are interested. With a unique new offer available throughout Europe, the INTERBOOT, together with a leading engine manufacturer, would like to make water sport appetizing for visitors who do not (yet) possess a boat license: Approximately 20 modern rubber dinghies are ready at the waterfront for reconnaissance trips. A "Testival of Water Sports" awaits visitors at the INTERBOOT harbour, at the exhibition lake and in all the halls. Everyone who would like to take part actively while at the exhibition can try different sports here – at, on and under the water. Top class sporting events frame the INTERBOOT 2007: at the Ladies Match Cup (Wednesday 26th to Sunday 30th September), which meanwhile counts in Ladies Match Racing as the top event in Germany, international top sports women set sail. Likewise on the harbour agenda again, are the INTERBOOT trophy and the Veteran Regatta. The most beautiful water sport areas are presented in hall A4. The charter forum is the starting point for everyone who enjoys maritime travel. Visitors receive competent guidance here as well as information to all questions about chartering, no matter whether it is about marinas, prevailing winds or tips for idyllic anchor bays. The journalists and book writers Mareike Guhr, Martin Muth and Bernhard Bartholmes have sailed the routes themselves and can give advice and encouragement. Eager beavers can already make an online appointment in advance of the INTERBOOT. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Exhibition News :: home page |
