| The Water, Energy, Earth & Air Exhibition To aid business to take up this challenge and provide them with a meaningful platform for industry to meet and share knowledge related to the upliftment and sustainability of the environment, Exhibitions for Africa will host the Sustain 2007 exhibition, incorporating Afriwater, at the Sandton Convention Centre from 15 to 17 August 2007. The exhibition will also showcase the country's progress in terms of Goal seven of the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) which is to ensure environmental sustainability. One of the targets of the goal is to integrate the principles of sustainability development into country policies and programmes and reverse the loss of environmental resources. In other countries strict laws regarding pollution have been in place for many years. In South Africa a number of Amendments to the National Environmental Act have resulted in a much stricter control of our environment. However, to ensure these have teeth, instruments are needed. These include a variety of products and services from not only the public sector, but the private sector. Sustain 2007 will focus on all the elements that make up our environment – water, energy, earth and air – and the protection and control thereof. It will showcase solutions that are necessary to ensure the regulations and policies in this regard put in place by the South African government are adhered to. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Exhibition News :: home page |
