TourNatur, Germany's only public trade fair for hiking and trekking is celebrating its 5th anniversary. Between 31 August and 02 September 2007 in Hall 4 of the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre, 250 exhibitors and brands will showcase the latest in hiking and trekking equipment as well as 5, 000 hiking destinations. In total, more than 30, 000 visitors are expected during the three fair days in Düsseldorf. No matter whether you would like to do a day hike on the Rheinsteig trail, spend your autumn holidays in Tyrol or are up to a two-month trekking adventure in Nepal, whether you choose Germany, Europe or America, TourNatur combines all hiking regions of the world in Düsseldorf.

Particular gems among the destinations represented are the trails also known as "Trails of your Dreams" through Europe. In Germany, in addition to the so-called TopTrails such as the Eifelsteig, Rothaarsteig or Frankenweg, this refers to the Malerweg in the Saxon Switzerland region or the Vulkanring in Vogelsberg. Moving south, one finds the Salzburg Almenweg track, the Adlerweg track in Tyrol or the European long-distance trail 4 on the island of Cyprus. Also represented are, among others, France and Catalonia with sections of the Jacob track and the Sendero Central de Cataluna, as well as the Canary Islands featuring the Camino feal de la costa and the Ruta de la Cresteria de los Volcanes.

Just as healthy and relaxing as regular hiking is Nordic Walking, which has developed from a supposed fashion trend to an enduring movement. Fans of this sport may receive a free gait analysis at TourNatur. During this analysis experts examine motion sequence and walking technique and offer suggestions for improvement, if required. A Nordic Walking course offers easy access to beginners. In addition, the specialists from the Nordic Walking Union explain the technique and give tips for the choice of the right shoes and poles.
