| Kid's Fashion Antwerp After too many years of neglect in this area, Paris is finally taking the plunge again with a junior and children's fashion fair dedicated to the spring/summer collections. For its very first summer event, KID'S FASHION MODE ENFANTINE PARIS has opted for the prestigious site of the Carrousel du Louvre. France will be kicking off the international junior and kids' fashion spring/summer 08 season on 21 and 22 June. Two days after the doors close on the international Paris event, they will open again at KID'S FASHION ANTWERP, a euroregional event targeting buyers from Benelux. This summer event is also a first for Antwerp which, until now, has hosted only a winter fair. The very successful Antwerp experiment last January has in fact incited the organisers to put on a summer event also. This will take place on 25 and 26 June in the very switched on Waagnatie venue (shed 29). In this way, the promoters will be adopting a significantly more coherent calendar with an end to the alternation between France and Belgium. From now on, Paris and Antwerp will both have their own events in winter and summer. With the launch of KID'S FASHION SELECTED COLOGNE, whose first event will be taking place on 6 and 7 July in Cologne, the German market will be discovering the new junior and kids' summer fashion collections two months earlier than usual. Organised to meet the demand of the major brands in the Rhineland area, this new fair will target not only its national market, but also countries from northern and eastern Europe. It will be taking place in the select venue of the Palladium (Schanzenstrasse 40). By organising these three events from June and July, KID'S FASHION is two months ahead of most of the children's and junior fashion fairs and is thus responding to an ever growing demand from the sector. And, instead of confining its line up to a single venue covering an area of 3000 m², KID'S FASHION has chosen to develop three prestigious areas, all situated in top European locations for fashion and culture. This step is in line with a new policy to be closer to buyers of target countries, a closeness that also favours an appropriate line up suited to the needs of the markets in question. The Paris and Antwerp fairs will also include two additional events. An exhibition of designer smileys, dolls created by designers emulating the world of children's fashion, will be organised in aid of Unicef. A jury, made up of members of Unicef France, the fairs' organisers and journalists will together vote for the winning smiley, which will be auctioned at Drouot Montaigne. Organised by Unicef for the fifth year running, it brings together eighty fashion designers in order to raise funds for child vaccination. Last year, the operation meant that thousands of children could be vaccinated and also paid for the refurbishment of health centres in Darfour. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Exhibition News :: home page |
