| Oil Sands Trade Show & Conference The renowned Oil Sands Trade Show & Conference, held annually every September in Fort McMurray since 1985, will move to Northlands Park in Edmonton for the year 2007. The announcement was made by the organizers of the event, dmg world media, a Calgary-based international trade show and conference organizer. The 2007 Oil Sands Trade Show & Conference will be held on September 19 & 20 at Northlands Park in Edmonton. The event will feature the annual Oil Sands Conference & Workshop, Golf Tournament and possible tours to Fort McMurray from Edmonton to visit the mine sites on a fly-by nature. Current construction in Fort McMurray and around C.A. Knight Centre, the limited availability of hotel rooms & flights and the need for event expansion were key factors in the decision to move the event to Edmonton. The event requires over 50, 000 square feet of exhibition and conference space and has a long waiting list of companies wishing to participate. A survey on the event sent to 3, 000 previous event visitors concluded that 74.6% of the respondents would take the time to attend the 2007 event in Edmonton, and 54% of those respondents said they would still attend smaller events in Fort McMurray throughout the year. A survey of past exhibitors indicated 88% of the respondents would still exhibit it the event moved to Edmonton, provided that the visitor attendance remained constant. Plans for the event to be moved back to Fort McMurray in 2008 will be reviewed at a later date. In the meantime, a series of conferences more focussed on the needs of the professionals in the industry will be conducted in 2007/2008 in Fort McMurray. Details will be made. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Exhibition News :: home page |
